Nice explanation. But the real challenge is getting a spare tip/jack from the market . Not all sizes are available and eBay India has closed down .

Indeed perhaps he could have had a better plug/jack pair if the first was melting from inadequate contacts. Should add a pull-out thong to that fun green plug (buttoned to the light!) Soldering looked cold joint...not so?

How did you determine which side was positive and what side negative? If i were to use this technique on a different voltage adapter, what setting would i need to select on my multimeter, and how do i test for the positive and negative wires ?

Positive should be the one that gives you numbers, and negative the one that is 0 or near to 0. And the multimeter setting in the video is 20 just because is a low amount, but not too low so won't be too sensitive.

It's small, it can be cheap, worth it as soon as a repair is needed. Tell me you won't touch a sewing needle for the fun of it if you like, knowing sewing people is also good!

Well, you're video is actually about replacing the male plug. A jack is the female part on the device which the plug inserts into.

Use ventilation soldering, and my congrats finding Temu supplies you can use, cheap ...I'm looking at a $30-120 200W supply when, I'm thinking, I just need to peroxide in the socket or pop the barrel contact springs out from stuck.

I have a charger like this that has a Transformer to plug in my (Xfinity) small cable box. I unplugged it to reset the box as Xfinity) requested and now the plug will not fit back in the box! I don't understand this. This is the charger I've had for 10 years and it will not go plug back into the box! I had someone else try and they swore up and down I had the wrong charger but it was literally still connected to the TV and the cable was connected to it. Anyone understand what happened or how to fix this? Thanks.
