2 years later and Premier Pro is still having these same issues. I had no problems up until last week and I've been using it for 3 years. I bought a really good gaming PC and it worked fine for a couple months and then all of the sudden, i had this issue. Your first suggestion actually seems to be working. Thank you for the help! If you've come up with a permanent fix for this issue, I'd love to know what you did.

My video still stucks, although the subtitles are works and even I can save my work, but cpu go upto 100% and I every time I have to close the program and restart it again, this happens almost after every to minutes of boxes and subtitling. Kindly reply me the solution. My laptop is i7 11th gen, 16gb ram and Intel irs graphics. This problem remains the same even if I lock the view of video.

Thanks! Resetting to saved layout fixed the problem for me!

The first step did with screw up my workspace. And I didn’t do anything to the freezing.

So in fact actually I have had this problem for a few days.. About 4 days now.. And I think I've solved it. Resetting the workspace didn't help me. Bringing up the preview box didn't help. The first day turning Premier Pro cloud off for 12 hours helped.. Then it was ok for 5 hours. But then the next day it froze again. This caused me great frustration as I've been back and fourth to Shotcut in the meantime.. As I was previously using Shotcut.. Before it froze completely on me.. Mind you I'm currently doing a big project on it.. Shotcut Doesn't like a lot of files. Shotcut froze. My partner.. She felt pained by what I was going through.. And highly suggested I tried her Premier pro account. So I tried it. Premier pro is terrific. The thing is.. When Premier pro gets stuck. Log out of the account.. Leave it alone for awhile.. Say 2 hours.. Then log back in.. It worked. It worked for me. I think logging out Resets things.
