In This Video We Will See How to Fix Restoring Backup on the Server PostgreSQL Process Failed or pg_restore or pgAdmin Error
Here Are The Steps to Fix Restoring Backup on the Server PostgreSQL Process Failed or pg_restore or pgAdmin Error
Method 1
1. Close Process failed
2. Close Process started
3. Note Down The Version Of PostgreSQL You Are Using From The Server List. If You Don't Have It, I Will Show You How To Know The Version Of PostgreSQL In The Next Step.
4. To Know the Version of PostgreSQL, Click on Any Database Under Databases
5. Click Query Tool iCon or Right-Click on Database & Then Click Query Tool
6. Now Type "select version();"
7. Click "Execute Script" Button
8. Here, You Can See The Version of PostgreSQL. Note it Down (Mine is PostgreSQL 16)
9. Click File Tab
10. Click Preferences
11. Scroll Down Until You Find Binary Paths
12. Click "Binary Paths"
13. We Need to add or Update The Binary Path & Also EDB Advanced Server According to Your PostgreSQl Version
14. Click File Explorer To Know Binary Path
15. Click This PC or Computer
16. Open C Drive
17. Open "Program Files" Folder
18. Scroll Down Until You Find PostgreSQL Folder
19. Open PostgreSQL Folder
20. Open Your PostgreSQL Version Folder
21. Open bin Folder Inside Your Installation Path
22. Click Blank Space in Address Bar as Shown in Video
23. Now Copy The Address Path
24. or Right-Click on Address Bar
25. Click "Copy address as text" This Will Also Copy Address Path
26. Minimize The PostgreSQl Folder
27. Now Paste The Previously Copied PostgreSQL Address Path Next to Your PostgreSQL Version (Mine is Version 16 so i Will Paste the Path in PostgreSQL 16)
28. Check Radio Button Beside Your PostgreSQL Version This Will Make it Default
29. Click Validate Button Next to Where You Pasted Your Path
30. if Binary Path is Valid You Will See PostgreSQL Version Next to Every Options
31. Click OK Button
32. Scroll Up to "EDB Advanced Server Binary Path"
33. Also Paste The Previously Copied Binary Path According To Your Version Here. (Mine is Version 16 so i Will Paste the Path in EDB Advanced Server 16)
34. Click Radio Button Here Also to Set it as Default
35. Click Validate Button Next to Where You Pasted Your Path
36. if Binary Path is Valid You Will See PostgreSQL Version Next to Every Option
37. Click OK Button
38. Click Save Button
39. Now Try to Restore Your Database
40. Done! This Time Backup is Restored
Method 2
1. Click "File Explorer"
2. Go To Path Where Your Database File is Present
3. Right-Click on The Database File
4. Click "Open With"
5. Scroll Down Until You See Notepad From The List
6. Select Notepad by Clicking on it & Click OK Button
7. Now Select All The Text inside Notepad By Pressing CTRL + A on Your Keyboard
8. Now Press CTRL + C To Copy All the Text inside Notepad
9. Close Notepad Once The Text is Copied
10. Minimize Your Database Folder
11. Now Right-Click on Database Where You Want To Restore Your Database
12. Click Query Tool
13. Paste The Previously Copied Text Here
14. Click "Execute Script" Button
15. Done! This Will Successfully Restore Your Database
