How to fix Rotten Transom & Stringers on a Boat. Tips!

Күн бұрынFour winns 245 Vista engine room S-side stringers and part of the transom was rotten. I removed all the wet foams from the engine room, rotten part of the transom and wet stringers. Then I replaced those with new plywood pieces and reinforced the transom because this specific boat was "Inboard to Outboard conversion project"

Got a question. Can I use some old rough cut hardwood lumber for my stringers? For my transom I'll be using marine grade wood.

Lumber doesnt have very good strength even when used inside sandwich construction. If you are using wood, use plywood or Balsa core.

what was the resin or putty you called peanut butter ?

Hi, It was polyester resin mixed with glass microballoons. In same cases I also add chopped mat into that mix to make it stronger :)
