I dont know what shot my TV, software update was the last thing I did and went off to sleep. Also, building had a power surge in the next day or two while i was away. Any chance it the was update that shot my TV?

hi nice channel hope you're keeping safe during these strange times, I have a sony KD-55X8509C the set will switch on and display the sony logo for a few seconds then power off, I have no standby light or green power light and no flashing error codes either, a few days before on a couple of occasions the tv would not start which I fixed by un plugging the set for a minute but now that doesn't even work, does this sound like a power board issue ?

Hi. My Sony KDL48W600B has ho standby light and doesn't turns on. Power board is supplying 19.6 volts. If I keep the tv in bright sunlight with back cover removed and heat it up I get SONY logo on screen which comes and goes many times and ultimately I can turn on the tv. Everytime I turn off the tv same problem occurs and I need the sun again. Can u suggest what is the problem in my tv.

Thanks for the video. My TV is a KD-55X8505C manufactured in 2015/12. It has worked perfect untill now when I wanted to move it to another location. It started a a few times but now it is not starting. No LED and no responce when I try to start it fron the RC or the button on the back. I have opened it and measured STBY3.3V to 3.46V and REG12V to 12.7V. When I follow the STBY3.3V on the main board I can't see that it uses this to power anything. The big components that shall carry high current are not populated. There is only a small resistor taking the signal to a thin trace on the board. Seems a bit odd. The black heat sink get a little warm after some time. So there is some kind of activity going on. Is the next step to replace the main board? If so, where can I buy one?

Hows it going, Great detailed video. I have a Sony xbr65x900f and it is giving me the black screen and no function issue. I tested for standby voltage and get 3.5v. Even get 12v output to mainboard. I tried the factory forced reset and the green LED light comes on but stays lit and nothing happens even after 20 minutes. Can this be a mainboard issue?

I took it apart and did some test With main board plugged 3.3 v test - nothing Ac off constant at 2.38 v Nothing on power on . Without mainboard plugged- No voltage on all. What do you think ? Hello, when i turn on tv the stand by light(white) turns on and then turns off after few seconds. The screen doesnt turn on at all. Its connected to the wall. Remote control is makes no difference. Tv box power doesnt change anything.There is no burns on the two boards. Please advice me.

I've got a Sony KDL-46z4100 that won't show a red stand-by light at all. TV will power on with a green light, but only with vertical lines, no sound and no ability to change the input or channels. I've purchased a main board, t-con board and power supply board off Ebay with no luck getting it to power on and work again. In fact I've tried two different main boards and power supply boards, all with matching part numbers. Any suggestions to get this thing working again would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there, I was watching you tube in my sony bravia, suddenly the screen turned black and showed some purple horizontal lines, with some scratchy, glitchy sound, then there was a little flash like light right in the middle of the screen and faded away. After that I completely, powered off the tv and turned it back on. First the green light appeared but nothing else, no sound, no nothing. But, when I did it again, the light was also gone. Now it's completely blank. No light, no picture, no sound, nothing. What's wrong? Please help

Hey, i got an Sony KD 55X8505C. My Problem is that one day my screen does not appear and there is no light underneath the sony logo. Feels like there is no power trough, but i plugged a google Chromecast in the usb input, the chrome cast got energy and i'am able to connect from my computer to chromecast. But there is no Picture or Sound anyway. Can't start the TV with my Remote or the Powerbutton on the backside. maybe you have an idea, the video shows lot's of possibles in my case but i can't imagine which one would it be.

Hi, I have a Sony KD-55x8509C. Problem is, LED indicator turns on briefly, then goes out. Not backlight on tv, only LED indicator is on briefly when power button is pressed. It started to do this a month ago, and i could turn on the tv sometimes after unplugging power, but now it is completely dead. Only LED powers on and goes out few seconds after. Forced Factory settings not working, when i try this it flashes green, but also here it just dies. Unplugging doesent work anymore. Does this sound like PowerBoard replacement?

Ok tested standby by has 5 volts but when I test the plug where all volts are first plug says 12 volts it's read 10 volts so can a power supply standby still read 5 volts and be bad ? Or think main board bad?

I have sony tv kd-65X8509C. It turns on shows sony logo and then backlight is active but no picture. Standby led is off. Can't turn off from button behind. I measured voltage on boards that seems to be ok. Can it be software? Is there any tool to flash memory with computer?

I've got a really odd situation here with my XBR-65X900C. There's no indicator light nor is there any backlight, picture, or audio playing. Nothing at all. I opened it up and verified that it's got standby voltage at 3.3V (as the circuit expects), and when I press the power button, the backlight circuitry is receiving power (2x 12V power). While the bl_err does produce a 2.7V voltage, this in itself should make the tv blink the 4 red lights of death in the status LED on the bottom of the screen, but instead there's nothing there. I've tried bypassing the bl_err to ground (to trick the circuitry into thinking that there's nothing wrong with the backlight - possibly one of the LEDs could be out but there's like 200+ there and it worked fine a few months ago so it's highly unlikely they all went out in one go), but still, no life at all. Is this indicative of the main board being bad? Is there anything else I should look for before ordering a new board/getting it fixed? Thanks!

My Sony 65x7500F will not turn on, there are no display lights, is black screen of death. I put in a new power supply board, and still have the same problem. Voltages and readings are all OK on the power board. Is my next step to buy a new main Board, or are there any other suggestions that I should try, before I buy that, and it is possibly not the fault again. Outdated video i believe. What if the TV has no standby lights? My sony 65a8F oled has no standby light. It only has white light when it turns on. Sony by far has the worst after sales service. I paid $3500.0 in 2018 for this tv, didnt even last 2 yrs. ughhh!! my last Sony for sure. THey have no customer service on the phone. Only via chat. I changed my power board with the help of Geek squad as sony didnt have any authorized service provider in NYC. i coulndt belive it. Dont thing geek squad is well prepared. They had no power meter to test if there is power. They simply changed the board and still wont turn on. Now I have to wait for them to order main board and see if it works. So frustrating. Should have bought the LG oled.
