Personally i never had a problem with the gas response. maybe Yamaha fine tuned it in a bit in the later years, mine is a 2020. But its always nice seeing these video's!

Mine is 2021, Brazilian made. It is very hard to drive slowly. I cant seen to give just enough throttle to get it going without reving a lot. So my wrist just get tired in trafic due to all the control I need with the twisting. I just use B mode in traffic, it's a bit better. I just don't get why the bike have a cable throttle, because the throttle bodys are electronic. And the cables are very sloppy, even when adjusted and well lubbed

I don't understand the complaints about the xsr900s throttle. I've had my for around 15,000kms and I love the throttle! Super responsive, rolls on smoothly.

I've had mine about the same as you. But it's the 2nd bike I've owned; the 5th I've rode ever. I don't find it a problem at all but maybe I'm used to it. My vrod was sprited, but the throttles on my buds R6 and hyabusa seemed unresponsive in comparison to the tourqe beasts I had.

Or you should take the bike down to a tuner and get them to put ot on the dyno and write a custom map. Did this on my mt10 and its now runs like its a completely different bike.

Had Yamaha Bolt w Ivans tune on the other hand and it was only slightly less jerky. Still a huge and annoying problem.

@@DustinTavo It's all about the % of throttle turn against the % of throttle opening. On the B settings I had 10% turn against 16% opening. No wonder it was snatching. There's only so much that can be done with these bits of kit. A bin file, remapping has none of the problems swapping plugs over. All I have is a couple of cables running from the ecu to under the seat. I had custom timing adjustment both retard and advanced in the low and high rev bands, throttle % mapped, speed restrictions taken out plus the O2 sensors deactivated. I removed the cat, fitted a link pipe and put a decent can of the exhaust. The longer the end can the better results... Don't get a SP Engineering, it can still be tuned but it would not be as good as say a scorpion.

I have a PCv with custom tune on my mt09 and it’s still pretty jerky. Honestly it’s a characteristic of the bike that I’ve learned to not only live with but to enjoy

Bought a 2014 fz09 today and that throttle is definitely wack. Plan on getting it flashed after I get my exhaust in a few weeks. Any advice? I'm pretty new to all this

Power Commander V with Autotune uses an additional broadband O2 sensor whereas this does not. The Dynojet product is more expensive though, but it's also more accurate. I have a PC5 and Autotune on my Z900RS and it's absolutely fantastic. That doesn't mean this isn't, but it's not really fair to compare them directly or present the PC5 as a lesser product.

I was a bit intimidated by my mt09 when I first got it because of everyone whining about it. I went from a R6 and honestly idk why people cry so much. It’s a blast to ride. It can be an animal but it’s not like it’s unmanageable. It will only do what you make it do

I have an XSR900, but this... did not look easy. I'm not sure I want to shell out upwards of $500 and spend several hours on the struggle bus trying to figure this thing out just to smoothen the throttle out without really adding much in the way of of performance.

The TPS is now known to be faulty for the mt09 and the only way to fix it is by using the upgraded TPS . No amount of ecu flashing is going to fix it etc. this is the electronic throttle btw

cool tip for Whitney and everyone else. if you stuff just a half inch of fuel line between the battery and the nut, it STAYS! Cool eh!??? Learned this one when I bought my race prepped CBR F4. Came that way, and now I use on all my bikes. What's worse than F ing with it for 20 minutes? When the nut drops and doesnt fall out. F***!!! Never again Fam!!! Never again;)

@@FluffYSweD since this is your first bike highly recommend making sure it's in BC 2 so you get your cornering brake control system at least TCS 2 or 3 and D mode 3 cause man there is a ton of power there definitely has some growing room though lol the electronics can really water it down if you ever feel like it's too much cause man it can be a monster of a bike but it will absolutely be great for you

Two comments... Why do I like these vlogs better when YN is absent. Spite and Whitney do a great job! Why don't you, via Tune-ECU or so make a correction to the mapping and get it all right? Done only via the service connector. Instead of buying useless hardware that only messes with the temperature sensor? Or doesn't these east asian mopeds haven't ths option? All of these cables and parts, when you should only change a few parameters in the setup? My bikes, Benelli and Moto Morini costed cables for 5 $ and freeware. The time, 1 hour and 30 minutes in total on the dyno with exhaust analysis costed me almost 200 $ though. But I could change about anything in the mapping. Both bikes runs smother, vibrates nothing, uses less fuel and delivers more power.......

I fixed the throttle on my 2020 MT09 by flashing the ECU with a PowerVision. All I had to take off was the seat.

that's exactly what i did for my 2021 XSR900. Got the Pv3 for the MT09, downloaded the XSR900 flash tune and DynoJet emailed me a custom XSR900 tune with akra exhaust...totally fixed the twitchly low rev throttle (esp in A mode) and the dead spot at 5k rpm. No need for what they did in this video.
