was having this issue for the longest damn time. watched a few other videos that never fixed it so gave up for like 6months. Just got it working again thanks to this. Much appreciated my dude.

Check if the device that you are using is the only device that has this problem. If not, it could be your router and you will have to contact your internet provider. If it is the only device, have you tried reinstalling/updating your network drivers?

How are you supposed to check for updates to fix unidentified network if you need to connect to the internet to update in the first place?

I didn't think about that, sorry. You are right, but you can always download the updates from a different pc and install them on your pc.

TRY THIS !!!! Device manager< network adapters< right click and uninstall device< install new driver from your motherboards website for the lan/Ethernet adapter.

To anyone having trouble with this issue like I was; I tried everything in this video and other videos as well and nothing worked. But the one thing I didn’t try and was most obvious was to try pairing my Ethernet plugged into my wifi modem with the Ethernet plugged into my pc again and it worked. Thought I’d share in case it would help anyone like it helped me.

After ur 1st command u should restart ur pc or lapi for the procedure to be processed! Worked for the first trick (after restarting) Tq buddy❤️

Step by step what worked for me. opened command promot as admin, typed " ipconfig/flushdns", turned off my pc, unplugged my ethernet from my pc and router, left my pc off. Restarted my router and waited for it to be on completely, plugged my ethernet in my pc upstairs, ran back down and moved the spot my ethernet was usually in from slot 1 to slot 3. then turned my pc and got prompted a message about internet from windows and clicked "allow" and it worked from now, I switched from verizon to comcast yesterday and never had an issue with verizon and comcast tried gaslighting me saying it was my pc. Already miss verizon.

it WORKED! finally!! I've been doing everything and this video helped me! 2:26 I did exactly that: just left the "obtain an IP address automatically" option on, and I just manually put in the 1111 1001 DNS server, now everything works!

I run long ethernet cable from router to desktop computer... Internet works. Then I try short cable from router to laptop... internet works. I connect router to the the wall termination with the short cable. Plug in long cable into other end of wall termination (my office) to my laptop... internet works. I unplug long cable from laptop and plug it into desktop... no internet (unidentified network). Help!

For me nothing work. I actually need to connect two computers via lan. It always says inidentified. i had successfull previous attempts of connecting before. But for some days it doesnt work. Below unidentified network it shows public network. I know we need private network to connect computers. Wrll i tried many methods. Nothing works. :(
