All I can say is I’m sitting in the middle of hurricane Ian here in Florida and i can’t be happier and more prepared with the 209 foot Baughman tile French drain I installed myself over a year ago! Learned everything here on FDM KZfaq ..Two 4inch high octane French drains plus a solid gold tapped in all my four gutters plus one neighbors on one side- will post action as long as I make it out alive

I’m hooked on your videos. You have great explanations and detail what you’re doing very well. Highly entertaining. Next season, I’ll correct my drainage issues using the products you use. Question, why does the Baughman co advise putting a gravel layer down as bedding? “2. Bedding Tubing should be bedded in gravel. In some situations, customers choose not to use the required gravel backfill, and instead elect to use a soil backfill material such as crushed stone or compacted soil and are still able to achieve satisfactory results. The bedding material should be placed around the tubing to a depth at least 2” over the top of the tubing. When selected soil bedding material from the trench excavation is used, choose small loose particles of soil that will flow around the tubing and minimize soil settling. Avoid large rocks that may damage the tubing or large clods of soil that cause voids and subsequent excessive settling.

At 3:40 the PVC stubs are shown. How are those stubs secured to the corrugated pipe prior to attaching the HDPE connector? I have a 18” corrugated through my backyard. I would like to have an answer before I discuss with the city. Thanks. I enjoy watching your videos the information is very helpful.

Thank you for your informative videos. My question is the sump pump system - looks like 2 chambers but isolated somehow? And where was the final discharge line emptying - the creek I would presume. Was that the pvc connection?

I live in western washington state near the columbia river, in the hills parallel. I have an in ground pool, made of concrete, about 15 ft deep.... There is a pond above the pool that has a waterfall that is about 8 ft from the water line of the pool............. There is an aquifer underneath the pool........................................... Also..... there is a creak behind the property about 20 yards from the pool that is about 10ft higher than the waterfall/pond.......... The pump house is at an elevation between the waterline of the pool and the pond. My pool has risen out of the ground. What would YOU do in this situation..?

Why do residential yards need fabric and round rock around their pipe, but large farm field drainage just covers theirs with dirt? Why don't theirs get clogged?

Because it's miles long. The longer the run the greater the collection of water. If you ever water a agricultural system during a rain it flows like a fire hose.
