Here is an easy solution to screen flickering issue in Windows 10. After the update to Windows 10, some users are experiencing continuous flickering on their screens, they can’t open any program at that point of time, restarting the computer hasn’t worked.
Here is a quick video on how to repair this issue.

Tech Lab, Thanks sooooo much. Was ready to put my new Lenovo into the disposal. No one was able to help. Not even the Geek Squad. I watched your video about 4 times. I was able to log into the computer when it wasnt flickering and I skipped to the end of your video to the msconfig and was able to fix the issue! AMAZING! left my PC on and ran strobe lighting then left it when I came back it was permanently strobing in the bottom right where the strobe was played!

I have spent the last four hours looking for this solution, believe me, there are apparently dozens of things that can cause the flickering and constant refreshing. This video was what finally solved my problem. Apparently disabling superfetch in msconfig can help. The bitdefender engine in many anti malware programs can cause constant refreshing. Some report icloud, some say their audio or video drivers were at fault. Some report a problem in explorer. Just keep looking out there, there are lots of suggestions! Anyway, thanks so much Tech Lab! This was the one I needed!

Guys I found a temporary fix to mine but still looking on how to get rid of it completely. When loading up your computer, load up the BIOS screen (on mine it's pressing F2 when it turns on) and then just go to save changes and exit. It seems to work fine after that but I think it's still have a minor effect on some of my programmes. Anyone found a good solution yet ?

thanks it worked for me. i think for those that have not solved the problem, try and diagnose the type of flickering you have. my mom's laptop: immediately after downloading to Windows 10, her desktop screen would keep flickering and refreshing. i could not select any icons nor the windows link. i really could only access task manager. if this sounds like your scenario, then his fix really worked for me. make sure you restart in safe mode. thanks for sharing this video. my mom is happy again. cheers

Yes, this worked last year and had to do this procedure. But since a new Windows update on 9/26/16, the flickering screen has reappeared and this trick doesn't work. In fact when I went into computer services tab those two boxes were already unchecked.

Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you selectPower > Restart. After your PC restarts to the Choose an optionscreen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

You might be able to go back to Windows 7 in the refresh OS or Recovery Option if not then you might have to do Fresh OS reinstall. Go back into safe mode to Explorer those options

none of these options helped, i went to bestbuy and they said it would cost $150 for them to resolve this issue for me. They said that it has to do something with the amd drivers files and the windows automatic updates but i have no clue what to do. I have an AMD Lenovo Y700 laptop anyone out there that can help me?

korry I have a Y700 AMD too. Had it only weeks and a windows 10 update last night caused the flicker issue for me. Fix in video did not work. I'm still looking for a solution. Please let me know if you manage to resolve. I will update here also if I manage to fix.

korry I managed to fix mine. 😃 I'll explain the solution below. Hopefully it will work for you too. its is a display driver unique to the Y700 that is causing the problem. 1. start Windows normally - no need for safe mode 2. press ctrl-alt-delete to open your task manager. your screen will flicker but the task manager should still be usable. 3. click File and then Create New Task

omg. I had constant flickering for over a month! & now it's ll fixed due to a comment about it could be caused from icloud. so I went under my settings, clicked apps, clicked on icloud, & clicked modify, then clicked reinstall icloud. Then I had to restart. Then upon turning back on, it STOPPED flickering it's lights back on and off. it's been a whole 5 mins and it still hasn't blinked! whoo hoo! ! ! ! thanku

I retract my earlier statement. my windows started flickering really bad the day following. so I uninstalled icloud & it still continued. so I followed this guys (Tech Lab) directions to the t & so far no problems. I will report back, sooner or later. but so far, I'm very, very happy & can actually get some work done now. Yay!!! ☺
