WOW! I have been trying for almost 9 months to figure out why my Link Cable had a huge stuttering issue with Windows 11. My Virtual Desktop app ran smooth with my games so I know it wasn't a PC performance problem. But when I would switch it to Link Cable, it was unplayable stuttering. I tried everything under the sun and watched countless videos but your tips did the trick! I can't thank you enough for this!

You can turn off SteamVR home and some more things off to. Steam home will always run in the background prioritizing over ur game so turn that off and you have a fun time playing my friend :)

Thank you so much! I thought my router was the problem then I found this and tried it out. This fixed my issue with the new Steam Link App on the Quest 3 using Wi-Fi. Now with manual bit rate set to 150 and encode maxed out I can still get a stable 120 fps and near 20 ping latency without any of those annoying micro stutters.

You're an absoulete life saver, I went from 20 - 40 fps to 60 - 70 fps, No joke.

Built a new PC and did a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro. With my Valve Index I was getting frame drops once every 5-10 seconds. This seems to have fix it so far. HL Alyx is running pretty smooth now. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come back. Thanks!

I am using Quest 2, and still experiencing the shuttering issue with Half life. I tried OculusDebugTool -> Toggle console window visibility, and the shuttering issue is completely GONE! The trick is I have to turn on the Toggle console... , restart PC, open Half life right away (the Toggle console will remain open). Unfortunately, if I put down my goggle, switch to other program on my PC and put back my goggle, then the issue come back.

Never had stutters or lag in SteamVR with Windows 11 so far. But I get whole Headset Freezes from time to time. Maybe that's some Windows 11 + WMR + Steam VR combination issue cuz it's on the Reverb G2. I'll try those changes though. Thanks mate. :)

It didn’t really work for me. I play rec room on steam vr and it’s just always laggy. Like I can go five seconds without lagging my headset off. I did all the steps and had hopes for the lag to be gone and it didn’t go away. Is there any possible way to fix this. I’ve been struggling with this issue for a year. When my Quest 2 streams to the PC via Oculus Link, as soon as I run SteamVR, it starts to continuously drop frames after about fifteen minutes. This issue persists even after disconnecting the stream, unless I restart the Quest 2. This problem suddenly appeared two months ago and has been unresolved since. I have consulted with Meta and SteamVR support, but their final suggestion was to replace the computer, which is not feasible for me. Additionally, I am confident that my PC is not the problem😭😭😭I can't even find anyone on the internet with the same experience as me

Yeah that GPU Scheduling garbage MS put in Win 11 was what I had forgotten from my previous Win 11 install. Now smooth sailing so to speak.

Should I turn off variable refresh rate too, I have that in my graphics settings too

I'm trying to play resident evil 7 with VR, but I'm having a lot of problems, I have to lower the "resolution for eye" to a minimum and so I can get good results, but the image quality is terrible, if I try to turn it up a bit, it actually crashes my entire PC and I'm forced to restart it, I don't have a very low-end PC, ok, it's not a very recent PC, but I don't think it's too underpowered to run such a fit, I have an RTX 2060, i7 9700k, 16 gb of RAM. Do you think I can solve the problem with this video? Edit: Not working.
