Thanks for the tips! I just had this happen on two of my bikes last week. I took them to my local bike shop and they heated one of the sets of pads up and sanded it down. Unfortunately they were so contaminated that I ended up having to replace them. Wished I would’ve seen this video first. I think it would’ve saved me some money. But now I know what to do in the future, thanks to your tips.

Good video. Another hack is to use SCC bike wash on the pads. Spray, scrub, then rinse with water!

Seriously? Brake cleaner will NOT eat through nitrile gloves! Heck, most brake cleaners are primarily acetone, the same thing as most nail polish removers.

@@elroobike Interesting. I clean brake rotors daily with various brake cleaners and do not havebglove failure issues any more than other general uses. Hmm.
