It's really easy to flat iron while not damaging your hair. The damage only comes when You're flat-ironing your hair everday or every other day. The key is to flat iron your hair once and have it last for like three or four days. So here's the strategy for that. On day one you use a professional shampoo to get your hair really clean Make sure you already blow dryed your hair straight so it lasts a long time when you use flat iron. If you come in with a hair that was air dried and its frizzy and wavy. Your flat iron is not going to last you Lastly, use hair protectant so your hair was never damaged in the first place.

@@BlowoutProfessor thanks for replying Chris! So the next day my hair dries out and my hair can get tangled from sleeping on it and it gets frizzy on the top layer. I can get annoying kinks in my hair from the way I’ve slept on it but I can’t brush it without the curls completely frizzing out. I have a question, I take care a lot of my hair, and once a year I get a permanent hair straighten treatment, which leaves my hair complete flat for at least 4 months, and it looks and feel smooth and undamaged. What do you recommend me as a routine when I do/have this process in my hair (daily and weekly hair care routine). Do I need to skip the blow dry and heat protectant, and just go to leave in conditioner and then natural air dry? Thank you!

What do you recommend when it comes to purple shampoos? I find most of them to be super drying and damaging. But I dont want my blonde to get brassy.
@BlowoutProfessor
@BlowoutProfessor 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Summer! Personally I don't like to look at purple shampoo as shampoo. It's not good at cleaning your hair and like you said it can leave it very dry. It's really more of a toner. I like to do 1 shampoo with a regular shampoo to get rid of buildup and prepare a clean hair shaft to absorb the purple color. Then do a 2nd shampoo with the purple shampoo. Leave that on long enough to get the tone you want. And again use a regular conditioner after. Not a purple conditioner. Hope that helps!

@BlowoutProfessor
@BlowoutProfessor 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Teresa! Absolutely, humidity will really mess with your hair in the South. The best way to deal with humidity is a round brush blowout with a LOT of tension. The tension is what gets the style to hold. 👍 But it's difficult to do on yourself. Really the best way is to limit time in humidity. Given enough time humidity will always win out.

@BlowoutProfessor
@BlowoutProfessor 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! The Moroccanoil heat protectant is probably the next best. Can you get that? Most blow dryers only go to about 175 at the nozzle and most of the heat energy goes towards evaporating water. The hair never gets that hot. So most styling products will have enough heat protection for that. But irons are usually between 275-450. You really really want a heat protectant designed specifically for that kind of heat! So you need 2 things. A styling product for blow drying with heat protectant. And then another protectant for iron work.
