Well lets see, so the passengers side fender was gonna cost like $250 from a wrecking yard to replace and get shipped over alone. And then I still needed to pull out a few dents and straighten out the body, get some body work done. Replace the rear drivers side door for sure, and that would’ve costed a little more than the fender. The whole car would’ve needed to get painted for it to look right and the roof paint was fading too. It would’ve been way too expensive to repair everything and that’s exactly why the insurance labeled it as a total loss even though it was mechanically sound. Let’s just say if it didn’t have any body problems it would’ve helped on the sale price, but it having a rebuilt title cuts of 20% off the value. It just wouldn’t have been worth it to do all the work. But depending on the car sometimes it is worth it! I wish $1000 could’ve fixed this car, it was a bit more far gone to make any money!

You have to purchase a yearly membership fee with Copart and it’s something like $60 or around there. Where I’m from in Washington or close by in Oregon you actually don’t need a dealers license to bid on a majority of the cars. As long as you have the yearly membership you should be good to go but it’s always a good idea to call the nearest Copart to you and find out! I don’t buy cars that are super far, and all the cars I’ve boughten are within a 5 hour drive. Usually you want a car that has mostly cosmetic damage and not mechanical because you never know what you can’t see, and they’re not too detailed on “mechanical damage” at least with pictures you can see the body panels you need and the gage cluster to check that no dash lights are on. I honestly should make a video about it or explain better in my next video with another car!
