Let me clarify something wrong that I said in this video: I said 10,000 RPM’s and 15,000 RPMS. What I meant was 1,000 and 1,500. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused!

Very helpful. I’m in the process of trying to get my restriction lifted and this helps me a lot. I’m trying to switch gears way too fast. This helped a lot

Give the guy a break perhaps it was his first upload on shifting gears. MORE IMPORTANTLY focus on the technique and description as to HOW he is demonstrating the maneuver now thats ALOT better than most on KZfaq. Good job

Agreed. Unless you are riding a crotch rocket, you aren't going to see those kinds of RPM's, but anyone who knows anything about engines already knows that. This is a good video.

Videos never show enough. If there is a slight change in grade, it affects the RPm's or if you have to slow down abruptly. I can go on and on. This is why I preach use the speedometer as a guide, not the RPMs

You can, it is only a matter of matching the speed of the next gear to your engine rpm’s

@@hatersgotohell627 it’s easier for semi truck drivers because driving semi’s with a clutch is already very close to floating, you’re just removing the clutch element whereas in cars most people aren’t used to raising the rpm’s up before the shift.

More efficient shifting, less wear and tear on the clutch.

Are you aware that your truck has a redline of 2500rpm… you keep saying bring the engine to 5,000-10,000-15,000 rpm lol. Your engine will explode at 3,000rpm…..😂

This doesn’t work for all trucks That’s what I’ve learned some trucks work smoother at 1400 rpm. And not 15 Some trucks higher gears need 15-17 rpm And lower gears 11-13 rpm Depends on truck and how quick and smooth you are with the shifter

I agree. My western star is a 10 speed and 3rd to 4th I shift at 900rpms. The 4th to 5th I shift at 1000. Then into 6th I shift at 1100. Then all my high range gears I shift 1500-1900 depending on the road
