That was the best flush video I have found. I was prepping for the track where no glycol is allowed...I used distilled and Purple mixed ....38 ozs distilled 4.5 ozs Purple. I did the overkill triple flush. Fan came on at 220 and sitting idle stayed at 218 2006 CBR 4fi / ... Overkill , but it was first flush with used bike. 1 owner 12,200 miles. Spectacularly clean. On a GoldWing there is always about 3/4 +/- of a quart that remains in the system after draining. I flush with 2 quarts of new coolant and dispose. Also if coolant contains silicates it can be death to the coolant pump. Best to check owners manual for ingredients known to cause damage.

Hey, i have a question. I have a light green coloured coolant currently on my bike. I just got this new coolant that has a much darkee green color. Theyre both suposed to be green. Is it ok to mix them?

Just a quick adendum: The top-down hose direct flush has its own reason of existance. When some parts corrode or really big flaky deposits appear (particularly in old bikes that haven't run that much or just bikes that have been sitting for a while), it is preferable to use this approach, as forcing those flakes and deposits in an anti-gravity way by running the bike may have them clogging up your system, particularly in smaller diameter tubes and parts. In some cases, it may even damage the water pump, and this can be a bummer if you have just replaced it. It even saves you time and distiled water, particularly if you know the bike well and are able to do this whilst by-passing the thermostat, so you get the whole circuit. Although if you do this with tap water, I'd recomend flushing it at least once with distiled water before you put your coolant.

I followed all your steps but when I reattached the overflow tank and filled it, coolant started coming out of the hose that leads to the bottom of the reservoir tank. I have a 2003 Honda car 954rr... pls help

Thank you for your video when the motorcycle is cool with the thermostat allow you to put that distilled water and the coolant in . In other words, will it go from the cooling neck straight to the radiator?

2 questions how do you make a 50/50 mix of distilled water and vinegar to flush out the system ? Is it as easy as pouring half water and half distilled vinegar in an empty soda bottle like shown in the video ? Also is this mix safe for aluminum engines ?

Help please. While blipping to get rid of the air bubbles (wasn't able to get rid of all of them) I noticed that as the bike got warmer the coolant was rising to the point where it almost spilled out had I not killed the engine. When the bike cools down the coolant starts going back down again. What I'm worried about is after I cap it off and while I'm riding, what if the coolant rises again with the cap on it and the pressure would build up and something disastrous can happen. Do help please.

Is distilled white vinegar same as Alcohol vinegar? Where I live we have only this Alcohol vinegar that is clear colour, other ones are like apple etc. Also, this one has 9% acid.

I thought on the final step when "burping" the air out of the system, the radiator cap should be off to let the trapped air escape? It's what I've seen in some other videos. Should the cap ALWAYS be on every time this video says turn the bike on?

Hi Guys, Out of all the coolant changes on KZfaq this one is the most professional one I've come across it give me confidence to do it myself.The only question i have - Distilled white vinegar l can not find it, searched all major supermarket and auto stores, All we have in Australia is white vinegar and Glitz Green Cleaning Vinegar ,can on of these be a replacement for distilled white vinegar or are they it ????? distilled water can be found but we've got a shit lot of demineralised water, I've been told that they are the same??

Hey Aaron great video. Very informative by the way. Just subscribed also. I ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 750. My repair manual mentions bleeding the system of air while slowly filling with new coolant. I use Engine Ice Btw. Any advice would certainly be appreciated.

I have a 2011 triumph Daytona 675, last time I took it for a ride, the coolant was boiling and spilling out of my ride. I tried riding it back home and the engine was overheating to the point where temp light came on, pulled over, let bike cool for hour and half, got back on hwy, within 10 mins, high temp light came back on- towed bike home. any ideas or suggestions. thanks

Here's some more details to watch for...Some of the stuff was overlooked burping and tighten cap otherwise boiling overflow ...also be SURE your fan is kicking in at bout 220. Be sure to know the specs for your BIKE so if it's 38 oz out be sure 38oz goes back in. If you are going to the track NON BASED Glycol Royal Purple with straight distilled has been working read directions 2 oz per quart of distilled so a 12 0z bottle would be good for 3 flushes most bikes. 11$ a bottle 1$ for a gallon of distilled...ONLY use this if you are track riding in case of overflow... anti freeze is like oil on the track will be hard to clean. AND IT FREEZES SO DUMP IT BEFORE FREEZING WEATHER UNLESS YOU LIVE IN A WARM AREA WITH NOTHING BELOW 32 F. If you can't get to the overflow tank ...try a shop vac and a piece of small fuel line duct taped into a makeshift hose, and try sucking it out. I tried it... it worked ...otherwise you may be removing your tank more fairing etc...Remember the green stuff is anti freeze not anti over heat. Be sure the pump is strong , fan is working and the dumpflush is fairly clear...and for all you guys and gals that forgot what a gallon and a quart is 64 oz is a gallon ...how many quarts in a gallon...4... 2 quarts is 32 oz how many ozs of Purple per quart? 2... Antifreeze 50 50 mix...buy the 100 percent mix and mix your own otherwise you are paying for half water in a 50 50 jug...year getting ripped off.

Engine running temperature is set by the thermostat and not 20deg cooler by some promoted brand of coolant!

How long does it take for the fan to come on? I was running it for 40 minutes until the radiator hoses were hot to touch, but I gave up as the fan didn't come on.
