And those battery lights on the bottom of the front of the controller. Is that the battery indicator for the drone or controller? Same goes for the battery percentage shown on the top right corner of the screen?

My transmitter only has the micro USB for some reason and it's the Phantom 3 4X, can I use this micro USB to connect my tablet in? What's the different from using a cable between my transmitter and the tablet or using no cable?

Nice video, but first things first. You must always... I mean always turn your controller on first, then the Phantom. The Phantom will look to bind with the controller the moment you turn it on. It is possible that if you do the revers, the Phantom could pick up a stray signal and interpret it as a takeoff instruction and have a flyaway situation. Happy flying!

Hey Peyton. Those mode switches are for waypoint modes and gps modes. You should check out some DJI tutorials you will just love what it can do.

the button on the right next to the back button is not a programmable button but rather a shutter release for taking still photos....the wheel below it is basically an iso / aperture combo...

Unlike by my guess DJI paid for tutorials where is the presenter is only allowed X number of seconds for tutorial per payment , so presenter does the presentation in machine gun mouth mode . Best starter Phantom 3 00 tutorial I've viewed so far with the exception ,what does the left joy stick do . If Payton was describing function of left joy stick , phone mount was blocking the view

Is the phantom wind resistant because I’ve lost many cheap drones because of the wind and I’m worried

I’ve flown in 20mph winds and the drone didn’t move out of position much. It’s very good about maintaining position during windy conditions.

If you’re ever about to fly with wind, just be sure to stand away from the drone while it’s taking off. Takeoff is one of the few times I’ve noticed the drone move horizontally a couple feet due to wind. Once it’s stable in the air, it’s doesn’t move much.

TonoRecords sorry for late reply, I didn't need a receipt, I just called city hall and they told me where I could and could not fly and all the distance requirements in fact they didn't ask me to register it at all but I was told every city has there own rules so that is going to be a hassle

I just crashed my drone today I bought it for $360 in the first time I went to fly it it fell on the floor and it broke. The camera is detached and everything is screwed up. I feel like I’m such a failure because of this. Someone said he’ll get it fixed for $30 but I just feel so depressed I hope this is a learning lesson to do some research before you fly because I had Not watched any videos or done any educating before I took off with the drone. It feels so bad when you save up money and at the end of the day it just breaks.

Did you forget to calibrate???? Bad news! Calibrate every flight, Dude...avoid ending up with a plastic paper weight.

+huntjunky1 you don't need to calibrate every flight.... I have done well over 500 flights of DJI Phantoms... You should calibrate after any hard landings, crashes or when the App finds an issue. After the initial calibration, it is fine.

+Ants Scotland No you don't need a license unless the footage you are recording is being used for commercial purposes. You do need to follow some safe rules though mate check the CAA site. Here is what they say: The Dronecode Make sure you can see your drone at all times and don't fly higher than 400 feet Always keep your drone away from aircraft, helicopters, airports and airfields Use your common sense and fly safely; you could be prosecuted if you don't. Drones fitted with cameras must not be flown: within 50 metres of people, vehicles, buildings or structures over congested areas or large gatherings such as concerts and sports events

I had the P4 and sold it. Recently got the p3 with a 4K camera. Guess it’s the pro. Sucks. Really hate it. Flies horribly. The P4 was waaaaay easier to fly. Like so easy. You had to do so little and the controls made sense. Not sure why the P3 is so fuckin difficult to fly. Or why they made the sticks so awful. The controls are weird as hell. I crashed it first flight two times (never crashed the P4 once) and that was a year ago. I just put it back in the case and have left it alone. Now I have to get a 4K shot for a job and soooo not looking forward to it 😂🤷‍♂️🤞
