its better to go straight to acro mode, just use some slow rates and bear in mind, its much more difficult to fly slowly than fast. so dont worry about shaky beginnings, practise big bank turns , then a split s from high up, then try some emergency stops, (good for getting used to very messy visuals and recovering) focus on not letting the quad drift sideways or backwards, EVER!. then when you can do precise bank turns, you'll find you are just flying the camera without much thinking. you are now an fpv pilot.

A valiant effort Brodie.🍺🍺 It took me like 5 packs before it really "CLICKED" in my brain and could fly in acro mode. My 7 year old son on the other hand practiced an hour on the sim and then basically could fly acro right away. He even landed the quad! That made me happy but depressed at the same time, lol. 😆
@BrodieReed3 ай бұрын
Hahah that’s an amazing effort indeed! Wish I could’ve been the same starting out 😅😅

I needed 3 weeks to be able to pick a tiny whoop on Acro.... wich I destroyed inmediatly. Well done! I think Angle mode is very useful for a beginner, as it lets you concentrate on throttle management. FPV is hard at the beginning, but after a while it's just like riding a bike. BTW when a drone falls into the water it's always better to disconnect its power while it's still underwater. Otherwise the current will inmediately flow through the wet components instead of being dispersed into the river.

it's great that sims work for most people :D i tried it and didn't like it. at all. i just go and fly the real drone and hope that i don't destroy it. that approach worked so far for a tiny 3d heli, different types of planes (i had help with my first flight though, an experienced rc pilot by my side who told me how to do some things, really great) and fpv whoops for me :D

Oh man... I can't help but laugh at the first flight with the 5" but I get it. It's a crazy idea to have someone fly within 24 hours of practice, probably more like 5 hours of simulated practice. Good college try though boys.

There's nothing wrong with learning in angle mode. When I started flying in acro mode, I'd switch to acro mid flight and switch back to angle if I get in trouble.

3:13 I don't think that works too well... I get what you are trying to do, but any training wheels you put on there, you just have to unlearn again... Cold water is the way to go... How do I know? I'm a super noob that spent less than an hour on the controls, full manual from the start and I'm doing smooth fast turns already, now I'm bringing in a bit more pitch and throttle while trying to stay closer to the ground... Race gates are still a ways off, but it's barely been an hour! - Cold Water baby!

A good method to prevent crashes is to use trainer mode on the remote. It exists for a reason
@BrodieReed4 ай бұрын
Which trainer mode are we talking about here? ✌️
@twelfsauce63584 ай бұрын
@BrodieReed I think he is referring to the trainer port and mode on your controller. In trainer mode, you can connect two controllers together using the aux port(top left of your tx16s, I think). In this mode, the coach will be able to take control of the aircraft using a set button which may be helpful in your case to save your evoque🫡 from a bath.

Um.mmmm you put the drone in the oven? Want to explain that? 😮 i usually just give it an isopropyl alcohol bath and let it air dry. Think the oven would be too hot even on the lowest setting

50 degrees Celsius for about 6 hours is perfect for drying it out, done it a couple times now ✌️

What's the point of learning it so fast. Only for your video. Hat stuff like that, can't ever turn around and you push him to fly a 5" 🙄 lucky it smashed in the river and not your head. Calling you self a pro in the thumbnail, 5sec into the video he shows a dead cat and calls it freestyle drone 🤣
