HOW TO FREEDIVE FOR CRAYFISH/LOBSTER - TIPS AND TRICKS

Күн бұрын

This episode of Kai down under starts of with a cinematic feel, I really wanted to put together something that shows the power of the Moana, the connection I have with it and the passion that myself and many others have of diving and hunting for our Kai and living through the whole process ourswlves instead of having somebody do it all for us.
I put together an instructional/tutorial type video on how I gather my Crayfish/Southern Rock lobster as requested by many of my subscribers.
I go through everything with a fine tooth comb, where to find crays, tips on how to grab them, how to measure them and also how to care for our fishery.
I'm not an expert and this information is based solely on my own experiences so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
The main purpose of this video is to spread what knowledge I have and hopefully help somebody wrangle their first cray.
Make sure you like and subscribe guys and drop a comment below if you have any other tips/tricks or useful info on the subject of cat hing crayfish.
Take care out there whanau

@kaidownunder7870
@kaidownunder7870 2 жыл бұрын
Within reason bro yes, I mean if you're diving in an area that has high dive traffic, the chances are less likely that you're going to find crayfish in shallower water because they've most likely been cleaned out, crayfish can even be in 1 metre depth if you put yourself in the right spot. Don't push your depth if you're not ready bro, but always strive to keep working on it in small steps😄 dive safe brother

In these dives what's the sort of recommendation on breath holds like how long should you learn to be able to hold your breath for going for crays etc ?
@kaidownunder7870
@kaidownunder7870 Жыл бұрын
Churr bro, first thing I would say about that is always dive to your own limits and never try to dive to someone else's. Obviously the longer you can hold you're breath the better but really it depends on how deep the crays are and whether you can equalise your ears and handle the pressure the deeper you go. If the crays are in 2mtrs of water you won't need as big of a breath hold, and if they're deeper you'll need a bigger one🙂 just try to stay relaxed and move slowly, you use less oxygen this way and it doesn't convert to CO2 which triggers the urge to breathe
