We tried out a freeze dryer service and made 4 different camping meals! Our menu included: Satay Chicken & Coconut Rice, Hainanese Chicken & Rice, Beef Baked Pasta, and a Tex Mex Veggie Mix. This was our first time making freeze dried food and we didn't know how it would turn out. It was not a difficult process, but just time consuming! We found it worth it in the end and estimated the cost to be $7-$9 per single serving bag (100g).
We have to play around with the rehydration process and figure out how much water to add to sufficiently reheat the food, but not turn it into soup. We'll provide an update once we have it figured out!
