So, the good ol' FBA is scary, right? You avoid doing it because it probably takes aaaages, right?
What if i told you that it's neither scary nor takes ages. Watch the video & give it a try for yourself.
What is a full bust adjustment?
A full bust adjustment or FBA as you've probably seen them called, adds more shaping to a garment, at the bust, than currently exists.
Is it hard?
It's as easy as drawing a couple of lines & cutting along them.
Does it take ages?
No, my whole video showing you how to do it is 7 minutes. It'll probably take you less than that. An extra 7 minutes is soooo worth it.
Why do I need to do a full bust adjustment?
The new Field Of Dreams dress features 2 dart on the front bodice, below the bust.
For those with a more prominent bust, a FBA will add more shaping to the bodice so that it fits you better. An FBA adds in another dart (a bust dart this time) from the side seam to the bust.
How do i know how much to add?
Step 5 in the tutorial, Calculating your adjustment, shows you exactly how to work it out. I also talk about this in the video. It's one simple calculation. Yep, one.

Just followed and completed the adjustment to make my new pattern piece. It was so easy. Now to make a toile to make sure it fits and I’ve measured correctly. This was so well explained, thankyou.

What happened to the waist dart? What if you don't want a side dart but want to adjust the waist dart

She moved the waist dart on the bodice with the fba so now how will it line up with skirt waist dart? You must have to move the skirt dart now?

I have only done this once before and know that I really need to make this adjustment no matter what. I appreciate this refresher and clearer tutorial. One question, how or when do I determine where my apex is - as a large busted low hanging woman? Thank you so much,.

Okay, I have really worked at this and if I use the difference between my upper bust and my full bust - I would be spreading my pattern 3 inches. If I use the upper bust for pattern selection and use the difference between the bust measurement of the pattern and my full bust the spread is like 1.5 inches. Now I just need to lower the apex and try it on. Thanks.

I have been searching to see what form your patterns are based - B cup? C cup? hourglass? straight? Could you put up a page on your website explaining your base shape and guides or links to adjustments? I saw the links to so many helps and tutorials on your website, so helpful! Except the FB page thing, that is really frustrating because I don't use FB.

I’m going to have to do this and when I do, I’ll have your video on to follow step by step. Tremendously helpful to SEE it actually being done rather than just the printed instructions. Although I must say, your pattern instructions are very clear and very thorough. Can’t go wrong.
