This video is only for Canadians. Note that Bitget is not available to residents of Alberta. I have seen people KYC with a passport and a VPN. Do this at your own risk though. You can directly buy USDT from Bitget, right? So why do we need Newton to buy USDC first and then transfer it to USDT? Why not buy it straight from Bitget USDT

Yes you can but it's definitely much more expensive. Not sure where you got Newton from. You sure you watched the video...?

@@cryptoforcanadians Just realized, after updating my Coinbase information and answer verification questions (resurrected my very old Coinbase account) that I don't have a "Deposit" option, just a "Buy and Sell" and the only payment method I can add is my credit card, no e-transfer to or deposit option to fund the account

I'm not sure why that's the case. Upon registering your Coinbase account, did you use Canadian ID to verify your account?

I tried to follow the method. How log does it take for the transfer to complete? Coinbase shows the transfer was complete. But Bitget still doesnt have anything in it. I checked the address multiple times, and its correct.

Shouldn't take long. Did Coinbase give you a TXID?

@@cryptoforcanadians as per coinbase the USDC transaction status is completed. Its been 24hours and my bitget doesnt show anything. I am new to this, it was my very first transaction for $200cad. So Im not sure what is TXID. But coinebase shows me transaction hash, completed status and an option at the bottom with view on Block Explorer.

Then you should've received it on Bitget if you sent it to the correct address on the same network. You're best to talk to Bitget about that then. What network did you send it on and what network did you choose to receive it on?

Are you sure this is cheaper and easier than just buying XLM on NDAX or Netcoins or something and send it to Bitget and then trading for USDT?

The issue with XLM is the volatility. You're at the mercy of when the platform that you buy it from sends it off or Bitget receiving it. Should the platform withhold your withdrawal on it and it dumps in between that time, how happy would you be?

Thanks for this. Very helpful. Does it matter which network you choose to send it over? Also to liquidate your USDT later is it best to reverse the process but send to NDAX instead of back to coinbase?

I just always choose Solana because I'm the most familiar with it. I'm not sure about the other chains. When cashing out, yes send it to NDAX, not Coinbase.

It says 0 fee, i thought coinbase had big fees. Does it only apply to usdc?

I know it says 0 fees but it's not for USDC. The fee is 0.5%. Notice how I only have $9.95 worth of USDC upon purchasing it? The 5 cents was what I paid in fees for the $10 purchase. This applies ONLY to USDC. You will notice that their fee for other coins are much higher.

Doable but just more expensive than buying USDC from Coinbase. Sending should be free on Newton.

Why didn’t it work? What’s your issue? Coinbase doesn’t sell USDT so no.

That's just transferring in CAD. Have you looked at the fees to buy with CAD though?

The convert feature actually has no slippage or fees so if it's available for the token then just use that

Yes but that's the cheapest method. You could aways try Newton or PayTrie.

Yes Coinbase will let you send off the coins. I just showed you in the video that I bought from Coinbase and sent it off to Bitget.

Yes you can. Coinbase doesn't know where you're sending the coins to.

Yeah I know, surprisingly USDC is the cheapest on Coinbase in Canada. Ndax would be good but they charge 4 USDC for withdrawals which doesn't make them a good choice for that.

It doesn't really matter what I use because my needs are probably different from yours but yes I primarily use Bitget and use USDT. That said, check out kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rryFjZeA36zKkac.html as I talk about which is the best exchange for who and why if you haven't already seen that.
