How To Generate Hydrogen from water At Home | How to make Hydrogen Generator
In this video I show how to generate hydrogen( hho ) flame using water and electricity . You can make it at home and gain experience.
In fact, we decompose the composition of water, which is hydrogen and oxygen, using electrical energy.

In such an electrolyzer, the output will not be hydrogen, but an explosive mixture of hydrogen and oxygen. In order to get exactly hydrogen, the cathode and anode must be separated by a partition at the level of the water surface and above. And the gases released at the anode and cathode must be collected separately ... It is very strange that these elementary basics are not taken into account in the video ...

There's little O2 produced in this reaction. When using table salt (sodium chloride) you get Hydrogen and Chlorine gas. The gases leave the reaction vessel and when bubbled through the second water bottle, the chlorine is dissolved forming Hydrochloric acid. In this application better to use baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) instead of table salt as it produces hydrogen, oxygen and a bit of CO2 which is also soluble in water.

Back in 1964, my friends used aluminum foil, draino, (Draino was a granulated acid that was used to clear out sink drains. Since the advent of plastic drain pipe, I haven't seen any draino) Bact in 1964, Clorox came in brown glass jugs. We got an empty Clorox bottle or jug. We put water in the bottle, then we put bits of aluminum foil into the bottle, after that we dumped the draino into the bottle, and stretched a balloon over the opening in the clorox bottle. After a few minutes, the balloon would fill up with hydrogen gas. When the balloon filled up with hydrogen, then we'd tie up the balloon and let it fly It took a long time for the balloon to fill up with hydrogen. So the smart guy in the group decided to put Clorox instead of water. The brown glass bottle exploded sending broken glass all over the basement. Lucky no one got cut. The smart guy ( who was an A student, said the bottle didn't explode, but instead it imploded, and he explained the difference to use C student. It was just one of many of my childhood memories.

The output of this generator is HHO, otherwise known as Brown's Gas. It has very interesting properties and is worth experimenting with. However, the gas is extremely reactive and the slightest spark can cause a powerful explosion. Keep it small scale and ensure you have a bubbler to prevent a spark or flame from travelling backwards in the tube and entering the generator.

It's called electrolysis, but putting current through salt water creates lye and gives of chlorine gas
@dlondon1144
@dlondon1144 Жыл бұрын
This is simple electrolysis. The electric charge causes the oxygen atom in the water to pick up a free electron, thus changing its polarity to match that of the hydrogen atoms. As same polarities repels, the hydrogen atoms disassociate from the oxygen atom and the result is expressed as a gas containing 2 parts hydrogen (H1) and one part Oxygen (ozone). The gas is corrosive and ozone can burn your lungs so avoid breathing the gas. When combusted, the gas becomes water again.

Very dangerous experiment and should put a warning in the video. He encountered no accident solely due to good luck ! When I was a student I made the hydrogen gas simply by putting zinc, the outer most metallic layer of an old battery, into a glass bottle filled with 50% of hydrochloric acid. When I though the hydrogen gas is enough for burning I ignited it with a match. . . then explosion occurred. Later, I discussed with my classmate and we concluded that due to the hydrogen in the bottle did not totally displayed the original air but mixed with it in a certain proportion and made it an explosive mixture of gases. Secondly, the jet for burning the hydrogen gas was not small enough to push the gas going out in a higher velocity and the fire sucked back into the the bottle and ignited the hydrogen-oxygen mixture inside. Thus a terrible explosion occurred. In this experiment, it is lucky that he used the very small needle-tip jet and thus avoided the explosion. I think nobody will be alert without my experience !

Man U are using totally wrong source of materials and setup. Use 316 stainless steel and U can use copper only on the positive side to stay clean, or just use 316 stainless steel, then U need thick PVC health boards . And U need to have 2.3 volts to each plate and it adds up to just over 12 volts U are working with. U need to make it so it has its own world of magnetic fields and double it's magnetic frequency and zero both, to produce clean and outrageous amounts of hydrogen. As long as it makes more then U need into your intake or vacuum. U will be fine. But if U need even more U can do say eight into one ECT and hook up how many U want. And with the added high temp fuel, U will need titanium valves and copper spark plugs. And then a tune at dyno place to tell your computer it's starving for fuel, that way the fuel cell hydrogen goes in at a certain amount made before it enters chambers of piston. And the gapping of spark plug, will be done right at dyno place. The more hydrogen U produce doesn't matter as long as it's more then U need. And when U play with hydrogen fuel cells, U have to have two one way valves, two flash back arrest and a bubbler , to clean hydrogen and it's a dry clean and a safety device, just incase it ever back flashes to the bubblers and not your fuel cell my friend.

This is a very dangerous experiment, due to the fact that the electrolysis liberates both oxygen and hydrogen. It is amazing that the whole thing didn't explode. Using glass is a very bad idea if it explodes as there could be broken glass flying everywhere at super-sonic speeds. I imagine the 'water filter' is absorbing some of the unwanted oxygen. However, if this is so, it will eventually saturate and will not be able to absorb any more oxygen, so a perfect mixture of H and O will be coming out of the nozzle !!! Lighting it with a flame could cause a backfire that goes all the way back to the main chamber!

It's not dangerous at all. The iron in stainless steel is readily oxidised compared to the hydroxide according to electrode potential values. That's why you see the green precipitate. You get chlorine and sodium hydroxide only if you're using inert anode. At 8:00 one can see the discolouration of the water by having used wires with copper cores (even though he so carefully used stainless steel blades for the terminals). It happens quite quickly, and after a few hours of use, you can really throw the machine away. It seems one starts to reproduce the "primeval ooze" from which life began!! Better buy one with platinum terminals for long use and easy cleaning.

Well this is an experiment to generate H2 . Experiments are also happening to run the Auto industry on Hydrogen as well. Hope that day comes earlier. So as to avoid Petrol, Diesel, Lpg, Lng, Vlsfo, Lsmgo and Kerosene.

In this method, gas is produced. And the blades are not used as a heating element, so the water does not boil

My first introduction to electrolysis was in prison in Texas. The inmates use to break down shaving razors and cut soda cans into strips and make a contraption that could be plugged into the wall via the soda can strips, which would be connected to the razor blades that were spaced and stacked in a way where electricity would travel through water in order to heat the water up for coffee or to cook Ramen noodles with. The electrical insulation was made from plastic thread that was stripped from property bags that were made from this plastic thread.
