In this episode, we cover all the aspects of seed germination along with a comparison between three different methods of germinating seeds to see which is the best way among them. Although, we have conducted this experiment with chili (chilli) pepper seeds (variety - Jalapeño or Jalapeno, species Capsicum Annuum) only, the same technique can be applied to almost all other seeds. The three methods we consider here are: (i) just sow or plant the seeds directly into soil/potting mix, (ii) use the wet 'Paper Towel' method, and (iii) presoaking the seeds before planting. We discuss the effectiveness of chemically scarifying seeds by soaking them in a solution of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and water. We also mention various tips, dos and don'ts regarding the seed germination process. Watch the entire episode to see which will be the best way for you to start seeds easily at home.
