Back in 2015.. my friend was super excited to join a flying school in Dubai and told me details of the course. I too wanted to join but the fees would be 1.2 cr. I asked my dad with a lot of hesitation. He was silent for a while and told me he can arrange 35 to 40 Lakhs maximum. He was close to retirement and i was so touched he was ready to risk so much for me. I decided not to trouble him. Worked hard and am now a manager in a psu bank. I still remember the tears in his eyes when i made it on my own. I meet my pilot friend now and then.. He's doing very well and is en route to get an indian conversion soon. We all have different circumstances and family situations. Its what we do with the cards that are given to us that matters.

It was on September 2014 I was so excited to become a commercial pilot.one day I told my brother to find a place where pilot trainings are provided & he agreed my feelings. After we visited the office at safdarjung airport(Delhi)they guide and help us to make my dreams reality Then they told us to arrange 40-50 lacs but unfortunately I belongs to a middle class family may be parallel to low class family as per my assumption but instead of pilot now I'm a proud civil engineer still hope to make my child become a Pilot

General Category Males, don't lose hope you can build a good high paying careers first in other fields, save up and pay for your flying school, you have an added advantage of having a secondary backup career. I'm 26 hold a Bachelors in Commerce and Masters in Analytics worked in Management Consulting, also as an independent Aviation Analyst, I've now started to train to become a pilot. Meanwhile if you are truly passionate keep educating about the profession, you will be more mature and knowledgeable .

I'll tell you a story. A boy wants to be a pilot (me) and he belongs to lower middle class. But he has no scholarships so he is having many issues. He has a friend who is very rich (can afford training for 5-6 times and still have money to buy a lot of other things) And he is doing pilot training for free because he is SC category. Sad life for the boy.

I tried to be a pilot (still want to be), but it was (in 2010 and still) a big amount for me and my family. I tried to cracked AFCAT but failed 2 times with 2 marks and 2nd time with 1 mark. Now I started a free (fully with food sometimes) small coaching for the student who wanted to join the Airforce Navy and Army. Successfully 2 of my student got a JOB this year and few just cracked it. I know my pain still in my heart dreaming about flying a plane. Now my students will do it for me one day.

I used to be a jee advanced aspirant , even though I cleared the exam but still could not get a seat in iit as my rank was low but on the other hand other students of my institute who were on same level as me but were of reserved category got selected in top notch iits in good streams . If those students are studying in such an expensive coaching they are no way poor . Why all the benefits are given to them. Is this fair
