I made a mistake on the exam Q: it’s the top one :/ Also, I want to confirm that Flashcards are really effective (I use them myself) but don’t start making them right now, if you have existing ones that’s fine but if you really want to make Flashcards, only make them on the difficult topics so you don’t lose much time for practise

@Nouman Sami, the reason some ppl don’t get the last q is cause this is for GCSE.In Igcse, the q specifies whether it’s a conc. aqueous solution or a dilute aqueous solution or whether it is molten.If if was conc. KI, the ans would be H2 at the cathode and Iodine at the anode, but if the q just stated “aqueous solution” or “dilute aqueous solution” the ans would be H2 and Oxygen as OH- ions get oxidised in preference to other anions .I’m not sure if GCSE has this, but if they do, by the term “solution”, they mean a conc. aq solution of KI.In IGCSE by the same term they are talking about weakly concentrated aqueous solutions.

Hydrogen and iodine? since the metal ion is more reactive than hydrogen, hydrogen is produced at cathode and a halide ion is present so iodine is produced at the anode

The answer at the end might be wrong with reference to solution implying aqueous to my understanding. Potassium is more reactive than the hydrogen formed when h+ ions are discharged and so hydrogen and iodine would be discharged wouldn’t they because it will probs be more difficult to discharge somet more reactive I swear.

Hi, how would you recommend revising for the GCSE (Bio,Phy,Chem) Practicals? I am currently really struggling on revising for the practicals as i usually create flashcards for my topics but i'm quite unsure what to do for the required practicals. Your help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)
@NoumanSami
@NoumanSami 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I’d say firstly to watch videos on people doing the practicals so you get familiar with the method and I personally then put each practical into a flashcard with the practical on one side and the main steps on the other, those Flashcards took ages for me to actually learn but they really helped. After that just find practical-specific exam questions online, perhaps on PMT or maybe ask your teacher, so you get familiar with answering 6 markers. I was lucky because we were told which practicals would come up so I only had to learn those ones but just remember that whenever you answer a 6 marker on a practical where you have to list the method, include controlled variables and bullet point the practical rather than write a paragraph. Hope that helps!
