It’s hard enough finding student KZfaqrs with better advice than “pay attention” and “make good notes”. But another Black girl in engineering that gives incredible advice?? I’m in love!

Pursuing electrical& electronic engineering and I might say it’s a hell of a ride. Have been balancing between engineering and my music career as well and I must say it hasn’t been easy but it’s surprises me that I’ve been able to go through almost all my courses and I’m on my final year project. Great video. Let’s all strive to be great!🎉

This semester I struggled the most in process control and chemical reaction engineering because the professors lecture were theory heavy and quizes and exams were only problems. Yes the the hw helped understand what kind of problems we would expect. However, I could not do additional practice problems because either the problems were made by professor or the hw problems would be nothing like the exam questions. Has anyone experienced this in their CHE courses?

I absolutely bombed one final exam worth 40% of my grade and I am likely to get a low 2:1 for the semester. I have calculated that if I managed to get first averages for the rest of the semesters I can still get a first in the end! My uni is outside UK btw.

This helps a lot! Thank you! How many hours did you work each day? How much sleep did you get?
@xavier2.0303 жыл бұрын
And did you read the text books the lecturer recommended you just the lecture notes?
@TEMSInfluence3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never really had a set routine. I did about 6 hours of solid studying a day if I averaged it out, but I usually studied for 11+ hours straight then slept for a while. Then repeated it. Not very healthy but if you’re very focussed for a short time period and you’re motivated by deadlines, it works.

I never opened text books unless I was very confused by the lecture or the lecture reading explanations were bad and this is usually close to the time the lecture was delivered if I did this. I made key notes on the textbook only in these circumstances to supplement the lecture notes. Before the exam, I used the lecture notes only, my own notes and questions

Today i found your channel and start watching every single content you have posted. tbh this is really interesting to watch. im doing my masters at the moment in mechatronics engineering. could you please suggest some courses that i can take as an additional academic qualification which would be aided in my carrer? for instance, human resources, business and marketing (just 6-12 months) or in the field itself. If so I'm extremely grateful for you :)

Sure, are you looking for courses to do at your own pace or more formal courses? In terms of topics, I recommend corporate finance basics (understanding how businesses work financially), project management and anything to do with leadership and managing people

Thanks for the video very helpful, I need to average a first in my final year. Will definitely use these tips. Would you recommend coursework heavy or exam heavy modules?
@TEMSInfluence2 жыл бұрын
I’m glad the video was helpful! I think there’s pros and cons to both and depends on what kind of work you like. I think a mixture of both is good, but personally I think I’m slightly better at exams and like the fact that exams are over pretty soon and the fact that you don’t have to manage other work around lectures
