Hey Matt, I made tryouts to the U18 Div 1 MRL team! Not only I am 16, My first tryout ever was 2 days ago, and I crapped up because of confidence and i wasnt showing my potential, then yestarday I was trying out again and they put me on to the U18! I am only 5"5 and way 140lbs so there were people bigger than me in my age group, but i was able to overcome that by having a serene state of mind, just playing football. I've been training every day since March of this year. In those few months I went from not being able to juggle a ball 5 times, to me now. Im a really really fast learner and I can't wait to prove to my coach why he picked me to be his Right Wing!

Matt, I have a question, not exactly about agents but about scouting combines such as Infosport or Soccerviza. I read they have some success stories but what have you heard about them or do you think they are worthwhile? Or in the future maybe a short video about them or scouting combines in general and your experiences and things you've heard from others. Thanks.

Matt, great video. I signed in Poland because I luckily happened to coach a player in America whose grandfather played for the club when he was in his 20s. He stayed in touch with his teammates over the years and one happened to become the Vice President of the club. When I asked if they would give me a trial, the answer was simple; when did I want to fly over? I've been unlucky with injuries over the years but it looks as though I will get a trial coming up soon in Sweden, again through a personal contact. You need a great CV and/or highlight video to get an agent's attention if he doesn't know you personally. Especially if you're a player that relies on consistency rather than moments of brilliance, you may be a great player, but your video will not stand out. You are 100% right that your personal contacts, and contacts of your contacts are the first people you should be reaching out to.

*Matt, I definitely believe in what you say, but guys do not always follow some rules/instructions or w.e. I can tell you this, I am 21 and have played football my whole life, atm I have been playing at around Semi-Pro level and when someone asks me what I dream of, well most of the time I do not want to lose my time. Do you know why? Simply because I am sick of people trying to bring you down and although they say that if you have not found a club until this age or that age, its over. Well let me tell you, YOU are the person who says when or if it is over. Just keep in mind that whatever you do has a purpose and you love, do not lose your time. Before you made this video I was actually going to ask you for the exact information to get information. I do have 1 question though, If for the summer I'm on a 7 aside league should I still make a highlight tape of that? Or should I wait until I get back to my university and film my club season? Or are these levels too low?

I know this is super late but I would only use clips from full 11v11 games. As a pro you won’t be playing 7 a side games so agents will look at the video and think it’s not realistic.

Practice.If you have the ability , success chases you.But if you are lazy, you need to spend your life just searching for success.

Vishnoo Prasad thanks for the advice man, it's just that sometimes when I make mistakes on the pitch, everyone yells at me and my self-esteem goes down tremendously. I'm trying to overcome it but people keep saying that I'm no good. I play really well when I practice solo but when it comes to playing with the team, I find that I'm not that useful not efficient sometimes.

There is millions of people to demotivate you.There is only one to motivate you(ITS YOU).Practice individually will give you the most out of your training.I never shoot good shots,all out of target.But i practiced 1 month only shooting.And now i can shoot long shots easily.

Devanshu Mishra I have some advice for you man... first of all you need to focus on control, dribbling, using your body right to shield the ball and shooting and finishing. second, I always see you commenting in people's videos about how to do this or how to do that, I just wanna tell you that there is nothing wrong with asking people questions on how to improve yourself... but the best way to improve yourself is by you being smart enough to know what YOU need to work on and improve more. Good players are the ones who know what they are capable of and what their mistakes are and they fix those mistakes.
