I hope I can describe this well. My contractor routered two channels for some heavy duty steel strips (probably 2-3 inches in width). The steel supports the bar portion of counter goes beyond the cabinet. In my opinion, one can never have enough counter top. I suggest you encourage the home owner to lengthen the overhang to the esthetic maximum. Thanks for another great video packed with valuable information and techniques.

My goodness, we need more people like you & your Son to help people with renovations - just received kitchen cabinets and the installers where not right for the job. My advice to anyone, please do not select contractor or business and you don't know the experience of the construction or install crew. They relied on me to tell them and I mistakenly thought they would be expertise advise - I am living a disaster with a kitchen that I do not love. Spent $15k on cabinets full of fillers and a farmhouse sink reduced from 33" to 28" - PEOPLE please do research, don't rush your project. Great video - wish I had seen this before hand - Thank you!

Excellent work! Plumber of over 20 years and a contractor for 10, I was taught a phrase and stood behind it and you guys epitomize it! People don't know what a bad contractor is because they never had a good one.

Tools in the work area is my pet peeve with my employes. Tools only can damage those cabinets when dropped or accidentally falls off and bounces up only to gouge the cabinet. Tools belong in a safe location, just my way of working.

I worked with my dad for many years installing gym floors and it was never that joyful like you guys working together .tho I love my father and I learned a lot from him working together no good

kick ass. protip: take your stanley measuring tapes and unwind them two full turns to make the recoil less. That way when the hook retracts into the case, it wont slam and prematurely wear out the hook rivets. thanks

Until i spent a couple hundred on the tools and a bunch of different pex connectors. Now I say, I would never solder pipes again! Great job guys!

Love this video as it demonstrates how in depth a cabinet company can go in one small area to get a custom fit and look. This is exactly why the price is differnt between the companies that don't do this every day and those that do. For the professionals that go to this length, I hope your charging accordingly because there are plenty of companies that charge less and send in a guy that can't execute the finished result that most customers expect.

im a plumber, helpful tip. I watched yall put multiple faucet supply stops on, if you put a bit of pipe dope on the stop threads it will decrease friction, eliminate squeak and squeal and allow you to tighten them with supreme confidence. Just dont get any pipe dope inside the sealing / seating of the stop or you contaminate the water supply

Our cabinets are going in today. Glad our cabinet manufacturer makes a cabinet for farm sink! 😊

Really good video and step by step instructions. Taking about 80% of what you are showing for my project. The only difference is that my sink and my cabinet (same as yours) does not require the support you have in between them due to the height but really good to learn everything you did. Thank you!

Just alittle tip if you use a bit of megaloc on your compression Fittings it want dry lock and Squeak when they get tight, it will lube it and make it much smoother while you tighten it. It's Been useful for the last 35 years, a old plumber showed me that a long time ago.

You could use steel plat with a rib that attaches to the wall behind the cabinet. Could tuck right behind the drawers and provide the cantilever support that it needs.

A squirrel could do pull-ups! Haha I like the quarter turn valves too. Not having to shut off the main water valve because you put in extra ball valves makes life much easier. That double layer of Styrofoam will make the kitchen much warmer or cooler in summer. Great job guys!

Also did the farm sink, and had to the same exact thing with the plywood and cabinet face! Felt like farm sink was definitely the best option since I was cutting the granite myself and didn't want to tackle the recessed sink aspect.

Regarding the farm/apron sink; you could just order Conestoga RTA cabinets, and do a custom front frame for that cabinet. No seams, or butt joints, no increase, or upcharge for the custom frame, and their quality is thru the roof.

I've mentioned this before on one of your other Cabinet vids. There may be hinge restrictors available for the cabinet hinges. They would prevent the door handle from hitting the wall or an adjacent deep cabinet, panel or fridge upper. They are for the full euro, not sure about the hybrids you are using. Also you don't have the adjustment with yours that is available on the full euro hinges. Good job on the farm sink. The fridge may have a plate on either the top or bottom pivot that will restrict the door from going past 90 degrees. I had to swap 25 fridges from one hand to the other and these plates were on both the top and bottom pivots.

over the refrigerator, I would paint the underside back and side interior cabinet pieces because there is exposed wood and screws.

Hey Paul, why not make it a full panel to support the countertop and separate the farm sink from the dish washer? Even just adding some blocking from the LVL to the horizontal cross bar would beef it up a little more. Otherwise great video as usual. I went ahead and added a full support panel to the like button and smashed it.

Turn the saw blade around backward in your table saw for cutting foam and it burns through it more than chipping through it, makes way less foam dust. Just remember to turn it back around before you cut wood again.

You guys do a great job. I would have still liked a little more support on the dishwasher side (that plywood piece looks iffy), but otherwise that's going to be a fantastic kitchen. On the support for the table, maybe some wrought iron deco 90 support (to go with the farm sink).

We router out the top of the sub top (lol) 1/2" deep and put a 4" x 7/16"" plate steel piece going back over the cabinets as far as they stick out. One over the front edge of the base cabinets and one over the back edge. You could bolt the back one onto that knee wall and be super sturdy. We regularly do 3' overhangs. We use binding posts and screws to fasten the steel to the sub top ( those little pieces that have a threaded hollow piece with a screw head that a screw screws into. .lol) That way underneath all you see are some recessed screw heads and you can skin it if you want. We've only had 1 get broken and it was a 300 lb. plus guy who was sitting on it, it broke after he had been setting on it for almost a year. This is not a seat ?

You could use some angle iron on top of the subtop overhang, if you're pouring the concrete countertops in place.

Depot has a made in Italy, BrassCraft, double ball valve, 1/4 turn, solid brass, - independent for the sink/ dishwasher for about $25, that will never fail. No plastic...

I’m just barely an apprentice but, If you’re already changing out the outlets you could ask the customer if they wish to upgrade to GFI or GFCI the cost at that point is minimal.

Run 1/4 steel strips under the plywood. Router it out so it flush but run it and give it a 90 and fasten it into the lower cabinet..sorta like a hide away bracket..it will be internal and allow u to hang the stone with invisible support
