Hi Purujit. I am from Life Science graduate, but, I want to get into tech..I have started learning web development. However, I feel due to my educational background, no one will give me job. Is it really possible for me??
@purujitkulshreshtha2211
@purujitkulshreshtha2211 2 жыл бұрын
@@FullmetalThor That's... One way to think about it. Here's another way to think about it, and a way that you should use, the thoughts that you should pitch to hiring managers. BECAUSE of your diverse educational background, you have a wider knowledge spectrum and have more to offer, more to bring to the table. It's gonna be especially beneficial if you try for a product-based company which has a product related to life-science.

`People that go to colleges/unis don't get hired due to skills apparently and colleges means much more than a requirement for these people.` this is what your comment screams but it is hella wrong and one sided
@purujitkulshreshtha2211
@purujitkulshreshtha2211 2 жыл бұрын
 @Ryan K. Onk Perhaps my initial comment was a bit misleading... Sorry about that. I have nothing against colleges OR people that attend college. There are a lot of valuable things that college offers that you won't get normally; hackathons, easy access to research, networking and the list goes on. However; a lot of people seem to not only believe but also propagate the notion that paying a large amount of money (sometimes entire life savings) to get an education is the only way of making it and that it guarantees a good job afterwards, both of which are highly conditional.Fact is that a lot of colleges and Universities (especially private ones) do not offer quality of education that is good enough, which is why recruiters like TCS and Infosys often spend 6-12 months training their staff before letting them off probation. Fact is that a lot of colleges are involved in malpractices that directly affect the students enrolled in them. Fact is that a lot of colleges just care about the money. Once again, not all colleges are like that. Once again, I have nothing against the idea of attending college. But IMHO; the situation of formal education that we have right now, not only will it not be viable in the future, it's not viable right now; given how large AND diverse our population is.

On point conversations. What a Podcast ! I am a developer and in IT from 5 yrs, still after listening this podcast felt we need to hear more of such people, founders and cofounders . We hardly have such level of conversations in real life. This podcast really gives a big picture of a tech industry. @love babbar - We need more of these! Can you please make a video or record a podcast how an experienced developer in service based can target growth and aim for 1cr+ package in India (without switching 3 jobs in 3 yrs). As after years of exp we work in specific tech so unlike freshers SDE roles at MAANG is not possible for us.

It's okay that you are taking teacher from. High tech companies but according to me it's not mandatory that a person who is highly skilled in his / her field will always be best in teaching... Teaching is different art. There are very few who are good employees plus excellent teacher. Babbar bhaiya is a good teacher . Yes he carry teaching qualities but how can we trust on those just by looking that they are from. Big position or big companies. No it's not possible for a middle-class boy. And it is something which is lacking online courses.

Again it's my personal opinion although you gave good points why India lag in producing Google and Facebook like companies because even working in companies like Google and fb where hardly people work 7-8 hours they can't spare 1hr to teach free of cost in a week, 4 in a month, add more people and hours will multiply hence cost can be reduced.

Most probably this is the best thing (podcast) that I have watched on youtube from the last 6 months of my life and youtube feed, it was quite informative, I came to know the things which are going to be quite impactful soon, very basic idea about the startups and behind the scenes of an organization, career advice, tech culture of other countries and the best part is that how scaler has identified the problem and working on it to bridge and reconstruct the broken education system of our country, they targeting the big market and also more importantly they entered on right time. PS : bhayiya aisa lag rha tha ki ye podcast bas chalata hi jaye khatam na ho....
