There are no restrictions on foreigners buying a home in The Bahamas. You go through the same steps as you would typically...getting a realtor and lawyer to draw up the documents. Then you would register the investment with the Exchange Control at the Central Bank of The Bahamas. This ensures that when you resell the home you will be able to remit the net proceeds of the sale outside The Bahamas in the currency of the original investment.

Yes, several. There are certain businesses that are only open to Bahamians, meaning non-Bahamians cannot start those businesses. For some businesses, foreigners can open a business, but a Bahamian has to be a partner...if memory serves me correctly, they have to be a majority partner, too.

They can't. They have to leave the country, secure employment in The Bahamas and the employer will apply for the work permit. Working on a tourist visa is illegal and you will be deported and placed on a block-list if caught.

If you plan on traveling to the US after visiting The Bahamas you may need to have a US visa. Contact the US Embassy in Nassau for more information. They have a website and are very responsive.

You have to be a permanent resident for 10 years before you can apply for citizenship. However, if you are married to a Bahamian for a minimum of seven years you can apply for citizenship. As far as the process you would have to go to The Bahamas' Department of Immigration website for more details. Good luck.

No. It's not. You have to be accepted into university or an accredited higher learning institution, first. Then, you have to get the proper documents from the school in order to apply for a visa to study in The Bahamas.
