I love how these came out! The final paintings in my elaborate lacing experiment. I did a series of paintings a few weeks ago -
➡️ • MUST SEE! ✨ Beautiful ...
➡️ • Stunning CELLS ✨ Purpl...
and I was blown away by the defined lacing and cells in the center. So I wanted to recreate that design but on a white background.
➡️ • ✨ Tiny Blue 💙 Acrylic ...
I also changed up the pouring medium, thinking it wouldn’t matter but it might have! While the cells and lacing are certainly present, they’re not as bold, leading me to ask the question.. was it the black paint, the pouring medium or the amount of metallic paint responsible? So I continued my experiment using a black background, a light metallic drizzle and the new pouring medium (creative inspirations gloss medium and varnish).
➡️ • 🌹 Vibrant Red ✨ and Pu...
I love the way this painting came out! So so beautiful but the crazy lacing is not present, so we can rule out the extremely heavy density of black paint being solely responsible. In these paintings tonight, I'll do one with Golden pouring medium and just a drizzle of metallics, and the other with creative inspirations and a puddle of metallics. By doing this combination, I'll be able to either rule out the amount of metallic paint or the pouring medium.
My goal is to continue to learn how to make beautiful cells and lacing using simple techniques and very few products. When I was new to acrylic pouring, I was overwhelmed by the products and complicated recipes people were using. I would love to be able to help others by showing that its possible to make beautiful acrylic pour paintings while keeping it simple.
Hope you enjoy the video! ❤️
RECIPE:
I only use the pouring medium in the metallics.
White, Carmine Red/Primary Magenta (equal parts), and Sky Blue Light are all Amsterdam standard brand paint. I mix these with only water. Paint to water- 60:40
The metallics are Gold and Copper Pebeo brand paint. I mix these with the pouring medium. Paint to Pouring Medium: 1:2 then add water to thin.
The painting on your left is with Creative Inspirations Gloss Medium and Varnish. The painting on your right is with Golden Pouring Medium.
The ratios are all the same as above for the previous paintings shown in this video. The top row of paintings were made with Golden Pouring Medium and the second row of paintings were made with Creative Inspiration Gloss Medium and Varnish.

Hi Lauren, I love that you experiment with less complicated recipes. Can you tell me how you thickened your white base paint. I am new to this Fluid Art . I need it to be simple because there are so many recipes to figure out. I get very confused with all the techniques and what is the best recipe for each one. I tried the dutch pour technique and my paint consistency was just too thick and I made it more difficult then it should be.
@LaurenMichelleArt

Hi Claudia, thank you for watching! I relate to what you’re saying. I was so overwhelmed too by all the crazy recipes, so I keep it simple. I use Amsterdam standard brand for most of my paints. It’s affordable but very high quality, so you can just mix it with water, no need for any other ingredients. To thin the white, I just added water.. I accidentally made it too thin in this video so I added more white paint to thicken it back up a little. Simple 🤗

I like them both as well I don't know if I'm leaning more towards my left you're right the color combinations are pretty I'm curious as to what size canvas it's like a 8x10 or if it's it's hard to tell if it's 10x10 or an oblong length. That you have two totally different effects. Sweet.

Very informative!! Thank you so very much for sharing this with us!! Is there a chart somewhere that tells you how much paint you will need for different canvas sizes? I know there are a bajillion techniques but, is there a general amount to base your starting point from? I have never done fluid art so, I’m just curious how you know how much paint to mix? It’s probably trial & error, right?! Thank you again, this info is so very helpful!!!❤❤

Is the first coat just acrylic white paint or is it mixed with something else, like pouring medium? And what are their ratios? And also are you using a butane torch or hot hair dryer to move the paint?
@LaurenMichelleArt
@LaurenMichelleArt 2 ай бұрын
Hi! I’m using a butane torch to pop air bubbles and using a Revlon travel size hair dryer on warm heat to blow the paint. The products and recipe are all in the description 🤗

Your paintings are pretty. I do like the one on the left. But your technique is actually a Dutch Pour. A Bloom is with much thicker paint and blown out minimal and then spun out to get a wide effect of cells and lacing. Rinska Douna has created a technique with Dutch Pour and Bloom to create a beautiful flower.

Each painting is using a different medium. The cells I was trying to achieve are in the painting on the right: Golden Medium Gloss mixed into the gold and copper. That and using Amsterdam titanium white mixed with water as the base. There’s no cell activator or Australian floetrol here, just a combination of different products I found will make cells 😊
