Amazing! Acquired! Also through downloading this i discovered other useful ones, including ones that allow me to talk to chatGPT and also get responses spoken back to me along with typing. Though you can chose to read responses only if you wanted. I love it!

I’m not sure about that but chat gpt plus (the paid version 3.5) now accesses the web via Bing search on-demand

I can do it without the stupid plug-in. It's just the way you phrase the prompt. GPT 3.5 free version can extract text from URLs and describe an image as well if you phrase the prompt correctly and there is textual metadata within the image. The plug-ins merely use clever prompts. And you can do that yourself. All these plug-ins do is paste a clever prompt into your GPT chat account. If you look at the conversation later you will see the first prompt and how they phrased it and then you can learn from the plug-in developers syntax and start doing it yourself and uninstall the stupid plug-in

I feel this addon comes with a pre-prompt, which changes the way it responses, but I cannot find where to edit that prompt.

Do you need to be using the paid version of ChatGPT to enable this extension? Just followed this tutorial and I do not get prompted with the options to turn on/off web browsing

It works on the free version. Check that the extension is switched on (they’re off by default in the browser) and if it is then - try reloading your browser. Let me know how you go

Hi Billy, I haven’t tried it on a mobile. However, there’s now a plug-in from OpenAi for web access - see here: ChatGPT GAINS Web Access! [FINALLY!] kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o6tmhJOdyeDHm2w.html and they recently released the official app for iOS but I don’t think there’s an Android app from them yet

Thanks. If you check your openai dashboard when you log in there should be API info for developers. You can test out the inputs and outputs in the playground. I hope that helps

There’s plug-in functionality being rolled out as we speak (see my previous to last video) so I’m sure that will be possible at some point - or maybe using a local clone (something I’m looking at soon)

Just installed the chrome extension and it looks right, but I got this response: "I apologize, but as an AI language model, my responses are generated based on a mixture of licensed data, data created by human trainers, and publicly available data. I do not have real-time access to the internet, and my training only goes up until September 2021. Therefore, I don't have specific information about..." Have they plugged this option?

The paid version 3.5 now accesses the web via bing, on demand as and when it needs to so you don’t get a mess on the screen - it’s seamless. You can also give it links that are older than 2021 now as it can go a check them out

I have the same set up you. Try turning the extension off and back on again. You may have to be reload chat gpt.

The extension didn't work. Even after installing it and reopening the webchat and ChatGPT, nothing appeared at the bottom of the page as shown in your video.

That’s what it was built for originally I believe. If it’s not working best to check the developers site. Some people reported it lot working well for them

Do you have a subscription to chat gpt 4? That now has a plug-in you can turn on in settings. Otherwise I’d say try contacting the developer of this extension and see if they can debug the issue

3rd part extensions may break and when that happens we rely on the developer to fix it. I’ve been using gpt 4 with OpenAi’s web access plug-in for a while now so I have t needed this extension
