How to Get Clothes Stitched in Pakistan or India

3 жыл бұрынI show you how to get a Salwar Kameez (Pakistani suit) stitched in Pakistan. It's the same process if you want to get a Kurta (Indian suit) stitched in India too. I'll show you the different fabrics, prices, and styles available at a tailor (darzi) in Lahore.
Salwar Kameez (also spelt shalwar kameez) translates into trousers (salwar) and a shirt (kameez). Salwar kameez are available in styles for both men and women. Women usually pair it with a scarf (dupatta). While men sometimes pair it with a waistcoat.
All colours of Salwar Kameez are available but Men in Pakistan prefer blue, light blue, white, brown, or green. Womens' are available in all imaginable colours and with plenty of decoration.

Idk so far alter south Indians I've met both online and in real like dont even take a few seconds to think how arrogant they are by abusing their own country. The price is actually very affordable for an average Malaysian like me. My ready-made Baju Melayu for Eid couple week ago actually costed me the same price as two Salwar Kameez. I hope Salwar Kameez can get in trend in Malaysia like the Kurta. Kurta is very popular here thanks to our Indian population(albeit is it Malaysian style's Kurta), and in recent years I've seen more and more Malay muslim donning Kurta for Eid and friday prayer(I have 5 pairs myself).I would love to have my own pair of Salwar Kameez one day definitely.

Malaysian here. A lot of kurtas being sold here but most of them are tight fitting and westernjzed . Personally I prefer Pakistani or Afghan styles . Simple, modest and comfortable.

Looks fantastic! Definitely agree about some of the drawbacks of getting a ready-made kurta. I'm 6 feet tall and broad-shouldered, and it was rare that I was able to find a ready-made Kurta that fit me properly without being too tight in the shoulders/arms. Thankfully we found a couple of very good tailors near where we lived in Delhi who were able to alter the ready-made ones I had as well as stitch new ones.

Im from the north east india tribal we dont use long/short kurtas but me personally i really2 love kurtas i just love wearing them now i have like 6/7 kurtas of diffrent colours and design which i bought them from Fabindia... Super awsome dress. ❤️

Thank you Karl for going through that process. I am so interested in acquiring many outfits from Pakistan but having tons of trouble. Prices in USD is large on eBay and other online stores. Would love to go spend a month there and throw out all of my western clothes and bring home only Pakistani and Indian clothes. And shoes. I really want a coat like you bought your wife the wool one but i found one online and it was like 300$! USD TOOOO MUCH.

- For Foreigner's wanting a stitched shalwar kameez in 🇵🇰 - 1. Famous unstiched cloth brands you should try: Pasha Fabrics (Luxurious) & Dynasty (Luxurious but price less than Pasha). These are the ones I personally wear. 2. For summer: Get a cotton fabric. (Egyptian Cotton preferred). Cotton gets a lot of wrinkles but feels very luxurious and airy. For winter: Get wool (or wool mix) fabrics. To avoid ironing: Get wash-n-wear (synthetic polyester). It won't be luxurious but easy to maintain. Although it might feel thin, it can get hot pretty fast.
