Good video Shy, I'd like to add a little tidbit for anyone looking to apply these skills in actual matches. Always use the information your team is giving you, either verbally or based on where they are standing, in order to anticipate where your enemies will be. Information is practically half the battle when it comes to sniping in Halo. If you don't know where to aim and you aren't attentive to where things are happening, then it doesn't matter how well you can hit shots. Thanks and glhf yall.

Awesome guide Shy! One thing I thought I'd mention to the ways of descoping around 5:50 is that previous halo titles had it so if you held down the stick while scoped in it would descope when you released and infinite doesn't have that currently (maybe one day if more requested). Anyway, keep up the awesome content :)

One of the biggest annoyances of Halo infinite for me is that in every previous halo game YY would reset the zoom but in infinite if you go 10x YY and scope back in it’ll go back to 10x

I got my own personal warm-up that I do. I have a custom games setting where it's me vs. 8 Recruit level bots. The only weapons are Sniper Rifles and Shock Rifles, and I need to get a score of 300 within 15 minutes. Bodyshot kills = 1 point, headshots = 2 points, and respawns are super-quick. This way, you get the bonus of being more familiar with map sightlines, different elevations, and more curb slide options!

Great tips and training plan. I'm not a good sniper myself (sadly) but one thing that I like to do is to use the outlines of my team mates to get a reference of head level when I'm snipping from far giving them assistance when they are at a body to body gunfight.

The best sniper I have ever seen in halo has been SixNeveRmiss…. I started seeing him in mcc a few years ago and he has been spotted on infinite recently. Absolute menace.

Yo this was very helpful. Majority of your vids are, actually 😅. Im playing on my mobile phone through gamepass with a Microsoft MOGA XP5 Xbox controller...until i get a new system. Ive had to tweak my sens for a while to compensate for the smaller screen and slight input delay but bro...your vids have helped me fine tune my sniping. Keep em coming fam 💯❤

I have played inverted since halo ce and can't believe how awesome helljumper is for it with flight inversion on too. it seems to be made for exactly that!

The rstick is completely open to jump because left bumper is jump. So, aim is inverted. flight is inverted. Instead of strafing and crouching in a br battle. you can jump at them at an angle and pop their shields before you hit the ground if your good at it.

Agree that people should give LT scope a try. In MCC, I'm planning to test it on a paddle as I don't want it to conflict with jump.

I probably just suck, but I really wish the 1st level zoom was 4x rather then 5x in Infinite: I feel like almost every sightline on every 4v4 map is too short for the 5x zoom to be comfortable, and some prior games did have a 4x zoom as I've suggesting. Something about it just feels more cramped then usual.

Great as always. I'd love to see an ideal practice routine for aspiring comp players... All manners from gun drills, bot modes to work on different skills, map rotations etc... Team drills and exercises. Could we gamify the bot grind? It's tough when you're hungry to be better, but you don't know what others are putting their time in.

For people who sometimes have trouble with the zoom level on the sniper rifle, check your controller binds if you use controller on the legacy settings or similar other layouts. Turns out, infinite binds zoom to both sticks

Trick to having to click-in or scope is to use a elite2 controller. It helps to map that function to one of the paddles

I do an endless road of snipers with 1 grenade and repulsor as training. Curb sliding of the edge and having to react to equipment has upped my sniper game 1000%

You can descope from ×10 to ×5 by clicking the left stick and vice versa, if you're on ×5 to return to ×10

How do I set my second level of scope? I have a new account I made and I set the 2nd zoom to the same button as my run and it works on that account but on my main I can’t set it. Every time I set it it resets my run button or whatever I set it to. Any ideas?

5:35 I have a solution that might work. Just to clarify, my controls are not set to legacy, but even then, if you enable the 'Hold to zoom' input option and disable the button mapping for 'Zoom level', you can effectively eliminate the 10x zoom and only use the 5x zoom. This way, you'll never scope in at 10x again.

I eliminated the 10x scope by being on LT aim with hold to aim selected. As soon as I let go of LT it scopes out anyway. Then when I scope back in it’s straight back to 5x scope

Mid diamond sniper here. I am not the Best But if I have anything note worthy, use your sprint to break your scope. Your always moving so all you have to do is it tap sprint (A) and your out of your scope. Sometimes you can’t y-y.

Yo! I use default sticks and triggers - I’m not sure about the pros, but I know bound uses “smart triggers” which as basically buttons for triggers - they’re pretty cool, though I’m a fan of the feel of a classic trigger pull personally

Do you use any type of aim down sights that are built into controller? For example the wolverine controller has an LT Aim down that allows you to slow the reticle down when getting close to target. Basically you engage that which is similar to reticle friction. Lucid uses it (ads, not the controller) and it looks very identical to his. If so, what controller are you using and what settings is it on? It's basically a feature that increases and decreases sensitivity at the press (and hold) of a button is how the feature works.

I don't use this! Sorry you're saying lucid has a toggle to slow/speed up his sensitivity at a button press? Do you have any sort of link to confirm this is true? I use a battle beaver controller with 6 back buttons - all other controller settings are default - you can see more details in my video description!

@@Shyway his mod confirmed it months ago and it's not illegal. In fact, it's an extra measure that requires skill. It's a future that's built into certain controllers. It's not auto aim or anything like that. And because it's not a cheat, therefore there's no implication of cheating. What I'm noticing is that there's simply a slow down effect. You can also create such an affect by lifting your thumb off slightly from the stick and then tilting it as well (requires more skill). There's no way for me to look through all the Lucid vod's for me to pull it up but that is the case because I specifically asked the same thing and one of his mods did confirm it. Has nothing to do with cheats. And I wouldn't bring his name into this unless I was a hundred percent certain of what I asked and what I was told. Otherwise I'm liable. But again it's not cheats not an accusation. If you'd like I can post a video to clarify what I'm talkin about. I promise you, if I was going to mention cheating I'm always 100% Direct in that accusation. I've never shied away from something like that. One could also say I talk about it too much. That said I apologize if it came out that way. I'm simply just trying to figure out a better way to use that built in mechanic and would not mind using a different controller as well.

maybe should also include, how ur thumbs rest on your joysticks. using the point of ur thumb is inferior tot he joint. you want to basically use the ball of your thumb. it seems odd at first, but you get better fidelity, because the point of ur thumb isnt a reliable dexteral digit.

Dont forget you can bind change zoom level to one of the dpad arrows u dont use. Then u dont need to zoom twice at all

Sort of made up the term for the sake of the discussion, but it means anyone aiming down sight with right stick click (like we used to in Halo's CE-Reach) vs LT ADS (default modern settings).

343 are actually addressing this feature in season 4 - can change your scope behaviour in settings! Not sure about removing the second scope entirely tho - but YY into x10 you’ll be able to change 👍

there are videos of people firing the sniper 3 times at a target that wasn't moving, and they missed aiming directly at center headshot twice. can you explain how to get good at an extremely inconsistent, broken game? why is anybody still playing this trash?! sure glad i have a sr152 and sr148 in Halo 5 while you people still have no progression system. at least i have something to show for it.
