Thanks for the heads up but is there anyone who has gotten the exotic through chests without doing the mission? Doing a communication heavy multiplayer activity is a big ask for a solo player without a working mic.

I got the activity unlocked by doing Blooming, then Landing and finally Impasse, worked fine and just fast travelled to the blooming and the next segment was unlocked 👍 (Edit: Extra clarification if it helps, I matchmade into the Blooming activity and then just fast travelled to the other two locations and completed everything in one instance without ever going to orbit.)

I would be ok with this if there was no timer but having a timer and it being puzzle based while being forced to do this co-op makes this mission a nightmare in my book.

Like I mentioned, I'm not happy with how they handled this quest but if they took away the timer or added rally points, I would be fine with everything else. Some people like yourself are gonna love it but as of now the community is not exactly peachy with the forced co-op. If you disagree, that is fine.

You can get it from pale heart chests after you do a clear once.

I'm just hoping Bungie sees enough outcry from the players and at least takes the timer out. Hell, I'll even take each part being a rally point that way if you wipe you just restart at the last point. Having to do this all over again for even the smallest reason would drive me insane.

Put on mics required with applications when you make your post for the mission. That way you can pick two people up who'll hopefully have mics. If one of them doesn't start talking like halfway through the mission warn em and kick them if they don't get a mic on is that a brutal way of doing things? Nope. That's all in your head. Exotics should be exotic. Bungie are clearly going back to their roots recently with making things actually take a bit of effort so they actually feel special when you get them. Let them cook. Exotics dropping like candy to the point where they feel like blue gear is not the game I want to play and i'm pretty sure deep down it's not the game anyone wants to play. Let them cook.

@@oxsila I get the point you’re making, but it would have been nice if they could’ve given us a bit of a heads up with that directions since they haven’t been doing that for a long time now. As a solo player, Lfg is shit and my game time is very limited and inconsistent now. I enjoy jumping on Destiny when I can, but this process they have here feels less like game time and more like rigorous audition stages for joining a Eastport team. At least for me. Heck, 10% or less of Destiny’s player Bass even does raids. If they want to do it this way and make it this difficult that’s fine, but just don’t type it up and market it as something that we can all get. Because with this structure they have here… I’m out. It’s a no go for me, but oh well. But making exotics more valuable and to be appreciated isn’t a bad thing to your point. They just did not market this stuff in that way, so it put expectations in the wrong place.

Happy to see I'm not the only one thrilled about this. I don't play video games like its my job. Gaming is not my primary hobby and Destiny isn't even the primary game I play when I do play games. The idea that I would devote so much of my precious limited leisure time to get an item that was heavily marketed as part of the expansion is not my favorite. It's not the end of the world, but I likely wont be getting this item. It's a shame.

As someone who is currently attempting this with a friend, I already hate this mission. It is tedious and annoying. There's no joy to be had here. The mechanics arent difficult, they're just annoying. This whole mission feels like a huge waste of my fucking time and I can not wait to be done my one run and then never fucking think about it again. Fuck you Bungie.

Maybe get over yourself and understand people don't want to go into an LFG with people who aren't competent at all, and maybe even just want to play solo? MMOs with only multiplayer content are just bad MMOs, every good MMO now (or just big names) like WoW, ESO and FF14, they all have a very even split between the two sides of the player base. Items like exotic class items which were heavily advertised shouldn't be this locked behind such a tedious mission.

unhappy with the precedent this sets regarding things. while im used to weapons being locked behind raids and other cooperative means, this is the first exotic armor locked behind cooperative play. cooperative play has always been the best way to get a lot of things, like materials, experience, gear, etc., but its never been the only way to get something other than special exotic weapons. sad im unlikely gonna be able to get this, let alone a good roll, so ill probably stick with standard subclasses for now

Im not asking to make this mission easy, I just wanted a chance to do it solo. Like can we not have challenging puzzles that are soloable? I like to run Dungeons in LFH, I like to run Raids in LFG, but this seems wrong to run in LFG. While im at it to address anyone who is constantly saying "all the best gear is/should be locked behind the hardest content." We haven't had that way for years now. They are constantly giving us great gear for seemingly less and at the same time making the harder to obtain gear more niche. There are a few raid/dungeon exotics that are definitely subpar but have atrocious drop rates or are just a pain to get. So why is this suddenly different? I still plan to LFG it, but they should have made this a dungeon or something. Probably would've had less harsh feedback (maybe).

They were thinking that they need to implement more mechanics into the base game therefore, other players are more familiar with these kind of mechanics. Think about it like this if you go onto the military, you have to go to basic training, correct? You don’t just go in knowing everything but when you go through that training, it makes you better same as this mission once you do this, and you figure out the mechanics these kind of things get you ready for things like raids and dungeons just like when they implement these mechanics in the new storyline, I think it’s awesome. That way people are well rounded and trained instead of sucking ass not knowing anything trying to do endgame content that is made for people that have been playing for years.

So there appears to be a frustrating bug in this mission. If one player is a light subclass, and another is a prismatic one using a light super, if the prismatic player dies, you can lose the buff needed to continue. Not entirely sure if this is the cause of losing the buff, but it would happen if the prismatic player died at the parkour spot after the symbol section.

Not sure if it's bugged, but I've done Overthrow twice now and havent gotten a Secret-Keepers to spawn. Either I'm missing some pre-requisite that we're not quite aware of yet, or it's not a guaranteed spawn, or (most likely) its just broken at launch like stuff tends to be.

I'm not at the point to unlock this mission just yet, but I want to say that the overall theming of this mission and its steps are extremely well-done and thought out. That being said, its strict requirement gives a huge advantage for people who already have others to play with. Once all the regular players strip-mine this mission for their perfect rolls, I see LFG going dead in maybe a week.

The mission is peak. It's absolutely amazing. I managed to get to the final boss last HP bar with a guy on chat (shoutout to the Hunter, Space Monke, ur the GOAT) but the last puzzle is literally impossible without mic. Idk, it's a really good mission, but it should be doable without a mic. It's not a raid, it should be accessible.

Whilst I don't agree everything has to be a solo player's activity, this mission is soul crushingly difficult for someone who doesn't participate in things like this much, haven't completed raids like vow to know callouts (An LFG I just got in didn't even know where these symbols were from, for me to get him to look up the spreadsheet).

@@jerrbear5958 The three missions that Micah-10 unlocks for Microchosm were very fun, and actually interesting with some decent teamwork involved. This mission is simply just annoying, tedious, and no LFG is going to get it done reasonably. I'd bet on less than 50% of LFG teams are completing this, for an exotic with lets just say a LOT of combinations.
