Wow. I hope to make it to Japan sometime. Was this your first time there? I already have so many places I’d like to see there. Do you speak Japanese?
@atomixfang

@@kevinhiggins7838 Yeah it was my first time, I had a JR pass before their crazy price hike, so I managed to visit a lot of the major cities of Honshu. Definitely keep that list in mind. It will come in handy once you get the chance to travel there you will have a blast. As for Japanese I'd say I am between N4-N3. That was enough to be able to move around the train stations, restaurants and hotels, but not enough to start conversations with locals though.

So many travel programmes just show you sights and hotels. What most don't tell you is the practical issues when buying tickets, reading information boards, etc. This was excellent in showing potential travellers how to get about, well done.

The only problem I see is if you arrived at 12 midnight in Narita so nomore trains running. Either you spend the night at Narita or take the limousine bus for Shinjuku, Ueno or Asakusa which is pricey at rougly around JPY1800.

It is so wonderful that Japan has affordable, reliable, and fast trains. Here in Canada, trains often cost more then flying, are not at all reliable, and are never fast. A country as vast as Canada, and we have absolutely no high speed rail lines. Usually the train is slower then driving to your destination yourself. North America in general is very far behind Asia and Europe when it comes to train travel. Thank you for another wonderfully informative video.
