After trying to figure out the Front side 180 for 2 straight weeks and just failing and then just hating skating by the end of each session I think using these drills will be a great thing to focus on instead for the time being. More drills by next month please!

I got a pair of these like 3 weeks ago, and I still haven’t learned them. I also work a lot so I haven’t had a ton of time to practice, maybe 4-5 hours. But I’m definitely getting better and more comfortable on them

Stay with it! Watch all the tutorials and put it into practice. It takes time, you'll get it!

Good video! Those were nice, intuitive approaches to learning freeskating. I'd never considered turning with my front foot out. For me, learning 180s was easier if I did them quickly.

Well actually I'm going to have to say this is the first video you guys actually released that I feel like this is fun try to learn. I wish it was possible for you guys better emphasize how you have to build the muscles do this better, regarding some of your other beginning tutorials. I do have to admit that you guys do mention that the muscle is going to be needed to be built though, so that's fair

Perhaps a super odd question, but have you ever tried to add some kind of strap to get them attached to your feet? You could jump and most likely do some sharper manoeuvres?

That's a hotly debated topic. Straps take the "free" out of freeskating, however there are riders who have talked about wanting them

@@jmkride I see the biggest benefit being a possibility to jump up from curbs which would make it an awesome way of commuting. Also, it could help with bad roads when vibrations are messing up your foot position, but these thoughts are nothing but assumptions. I would be interested in hearing your personal experience/opinion about it :)

I'm still learning how to pump. I can move my back foot in pumping motion but when I tried to coordinate using my front foot I slip and fell then broke my wrist 😢

Ooof so sorry to hear! Safety first always, make sure not to stay on and lose your balance. Baby steps. Really work on going straight and maintaining your balance. That is the most important part of learning. Once you're confident there, then work on the movement

I had the same issue. Try shifting your weight to the other foot.

Your body is getting used to a unique style of riding using muscles you don't typically use or using them differently. It's a "growing pain" that you will work beyond. Sometimes learning you may try and grip too hard with your toes. As Stewart mentioned, foot placement also is a factor

You can do it! Watch all of the tutorials and really focus on the basics. Work on going straight and keeping your balance
