FOMO for the one place EVERYONE is talking about??
Okay, so I actually don't know ANYONE who's been to Russia besides the guy on NPR every morning and to tell you the truth, it's not exactly easy to get in. But let me show you exactly what you need to get your (collusion-free) ticket to Moscow. Not enough, I'll show you how to get there for $40.

Maria Petrova I’ve included a little tidbit of history of the Kievan Rus in my second video from Russia, How to Travel: St Petersburg. The goal for St Petersburg was to explore the history of Russia from its early tribal formation until the end of tsardom; How to Travel: Moscow explores the history of Russia from the Soviet era until 2019.

@Armando Problemas Have you ever been to Moscow? You can’t find those “Soviet” things if you’re not looking for them on purpose as the KZfaqr did. Except of Lenin Mausoleum. I meant those vodka cafe, super soviet hotel.. Get rid of Lenin Mausoleum? That’s a really good idea. We often talk about it in Russia. I don’t know why but the dead body is still there. btw Stalin doesn’t have a mausoleum now. And I don’t remember if I ever seen any Stalin Monument here. We don’t have so many Soviet reminders. That’s why I didn’t like the video. It didn’t show Russia. It showed post USSR. And not every Soviet reminders and spots are stupid. It’s our history. We need to know and remember it. The reminders don’t speak. We’re creating thoughts looking at “the reminders”. And all the thoughts are different. P.S. History is written by winners. There’s always a good side and bad one.

@@howtotravel-tv Your whole trip looks like a cosplay of stereotypes about Russia well constructed by the American propaganda over the decades. You are not discovering the country but rather searching for some traces of the existing ideas. In every episode it is the same predictable choice of setting and reaction. My husband and I recently really wanted to change the situation, but we didn't want to go far, so we chose the Royal Zenith Hotel. The hotel is located in the protected area of Serebryany Bor, surrounded by pine trees and a beautiful view of the river. How did you find getting around without Russian? I've been living here for 5 years, but couldn't even imagine trying to navigate the city without any Russian (which I'm guessing explains why you were mostly in pretty touristy places). If you ever come back, hit me up and I can show you some better spots! Moscow is a gem of a city, but on limited time it's really hard to actually get a feel for it without either a lot of prior experience or a local friend to show you around.

Since the 1st January there is an e-visa to get in to Russia. No need of invitation, just your passport (international, of course) and answering some question about for what reason you want to visit the country. This visa allows you to stay inside Russia for 16 days as a tourist.

Thank you for the news! It appears that the new E visas are still not available to citizens of the USA. www.themoscowtimes.com/2020/11/12/everything-you-need-to-know-about-russias-new-e-visas-a72023 However, it is not exactly clear whether a letter of invitation is still required: washington.mid.ru/en/consular-services/citizens-usa/visa-to-russia/tourist-visa/ ru.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/russian-visas/

@@howtotravel-tv Visa laws are usually reciprocal, that is when the US cancels visas for Russians, Russia will cancel visas for Americans. At least if it was easy for Russians to get an American visa (let's say the same easy as to get an Italian or French visa), then it would be easy for Americans to get a Russian visa.

Hi from Moscow. Now Moscow - 12.7 million inhabitants (official statistics). in fact, I think at least 20 million, plus the Moscow region at least 7 million, in reality more than 10 million. Many people (who came to Moscow to work ) rent apartments. official population statistics are much lower than the real number of residents

This was disgusting. Russians do not eat that much food and do not mix the food how they did. This was just disgusting and sad that the producers of this video did not focus on the beauty of the city and good Russian food, but picked up the weirdest items. It was painful to watch. I wish they had stomachaches and diarrhea.
