How to get into trunk of Jag F-Type with completely dead battery.

After a vacation and my car on a battery tender the battery was still dead and I could not pop the trunk. This is what I did to get into it so i could test and replace the bad battery.
if this helps you please like and feel free to comment or ask questions. i only know what I have had to do so far. at 50k I will do spark plugs and a video for that as well.

Hi appreciate you taking the time to post this series of videos to illustrate the process to resolve a completely dead battery for your Ftype R. Similar to yourself my Ftype R also currently has a dead batttery. My question is regarding how to open the trunk if I already connected my booster and missed the opportunity to open the trunk lid ? Are you able to repeat this procedure ? Per your demonstration, I now know that I need to run to the rear to hit the button. Thank you for your insights.

Yes you can repeat the process if you miss hitting the button. Disconnect, wait a few min, maybe even hit the start button to deplete and residual charge the try again. Have the passenger door closed so you can connect the positive or negative and run to the back and hit the button while lifting. That or have a friend help. I connected a battery tender connector port inside next to my gas card so I can trickle charge on weekends and keep the jump starter kit in the glove box.

hi, i have a 2016 jaguar f type base. and it says the error message “ battery low please start engine “ and i do and drive around for 30 minutes and it still says it after the drive is finished. i ended up taking the car to autozone to get the battery checked and he showed me that it says good battery and 100% charge. i’m confused on what to do some people told me to unplug the battery and wait 3 minutes then plug it back together and it will work but others told me to not do it because it will mess something with the computer? please help thank you.

Check you don't have loose terminals. I did. I tightened them. The driving and bouncing causes it to come loose and not charge yet it will still start.

Hi! Can I replace the battery without using a "buffering battery". I have a new one but I'm scare the take the battery from the car and have and electronic issue.

I had no issue replacing the battery. Just unplug positive 1st then the negative and put the new one in. Connect the negative (Black ground wire) 1st then the red positive wire 2nd. That way it always goes to ground before the positive hot terminal is connected. Be sure the new battery is fully charged beforenputting it in. Once in place, turn on car to be sure no problems. Then you can put all the paneling back in. I ran a battery tender connector to my gas cap so i can always connect and charge it direct to the battery and pop the trunk if it goes dead again.

@@MicJaguar Hello. I finally bought a second new battery to buffer it on the front of the vehicle. I had to stop the process because I couldn't get the rear battery out of its slot. Also, it's positive first for plugging in and negative first for unplugging...right? This is the opposite of what you wrote I think.

@Блог начинающего копателя since it completely has worked for me for years and never had a problem. For me, im completely right since I never have anything nearby, and I make sure I am not touching anything to create an arc resulting in plasma. I am maticulous. It's not so much as being right or wrong so much as taking care to check everything you're doing. But this is just my opinion. Do as you will.

@@MicJaguar In fact it does not really matter how you plug/unplug them, but correct order is negative then positive, you can check any car manual.
