I've tried it dude, what I would recommend is only get into it if you can already act, and act well at that. Because people can only hear you, you need to convey as much of the character through your voice alone as you possibly can. And that's not easy, at least in my experience.

Why I want to be a Voice Actor: It is fun, and I really like to “experiment” with my voice. What got me into voice acting: Back when I was in the Ace Attorney community I saw the bloopers from the anime dub and the Voice actors seemed to have so much fun. Then when I tried to make some random voices (and when I recently auditioned for the first time) I realized that it actually was really fun!

I have always (ever since I was 9) wanted to get into TV/movies, especially when I lived in California. My family moved to Mississippi when I was 12, so that pretty much killed my dream due to the south not having opportunities really to get into show business. I have however been an extra in 2 movies. As I grew, I was always told by family, friends, associates that I should get into something more practical because show business is a very hard business to get into and not guaranteed. So I listened. After graduating from high school, I started working in another field. I went to college. Got 2 degrees, and I am currently pursing my 3rd degree. However, I've never felt that I have pursued my "true" calling. I always felt most of my entire life that I was meant for show business - whether it be TV, movies, radio etc. People have been telling me for years that I have a nice voice, and they request me for certain things to read for programs, ceremonies, and other occasion. I will be 40 this year, and although I currently still live in the south, I am ready for a fulfilling career change. I have spent so many years unfulfilled. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I'm 29 now but have had an affinity for voice acting since the 2nd grade when I would give each character a voice when reading out loud in class. Love doing impersonations and coming up with characters. Been told I should use my voice for a living by multiple people but I don't take compliments well so I just kind of brush them off but I think it's truly my calling.

I knew this is what I wanted to do since the 3rd grade. Starting with telling wacky and funny stories and replicating sounds and voices. So much to the point where my fellow students would gather around and want to hear what my next story would be whilst using unique voices and sounds for the characters and setpieces. Also, they'd ask or even tell me to do my voices and sounds on command, even when I run into them 20+yrs later. Singing came along with it, traveling in bands and choirs from straight out of school all the while expressing my love to interact with the public and individuals by bartending in the process whenever I came home. Building upon my range, character and adaptations at such an early age and never stopping really made my abilities second nature and an everyday joy for me. Voice acting is something I love, fell into, just comes out of me and it's just a big part of who I am. I aspire to continue my journey now as a professional voice actor so I can also continue to share, provide, entertain and create new pathways into what makes me....me.....and to discover what amazing opportunities and discoveried I can become part of.

Moreover I'm a big fan of narrators and cartoons! “Why do you want to become a voice actor ?” Hmm let’s see. I want to become a voice actor to discover the diversity of the possibilities of the characters I can play. From a crybaby to a really really really serious and Machiavellian villain, from a student to an old person, etc. I want to be able to play any types of characters and tempers. Also, seeing Zenitsu’s voice actor (sub and dub) screaming all the time makes me want to try voice acting so much. Although I know my voice will die because of it, I want to know the tips to avoid those dangers (warm ups, etc). Plus, Zenitsu’s dub voice actor plays a villain too (I want to do things like him (*^*). I don’t know why I’m posting this because there’s no guarantee you’ll se this comment. Bill Hader, Jim Cummings, Mark Hamill, Mona Marshall, Tara Strong, Tom Kenny, Tom Kane, Dan Castellaneta, Harry Shearer, etc 4-I noticed I was doing different “takes” when rereading books to my children and trying to get the best one down for the best effect.

I have completed a couple of projects in that venue successfully. At this point I feel I may need some coaching, but not sure who would really be a good fit for me in that regard. Tried one and was not very pleased. Learned some things but felt that I was being discouraged. I do daily broadcasts in the Retail environment where I work in management. So many people come in to see me and tell me how great I sound doing those broadcasts. I really want to do this!

The reason I got interested and wanted to become a voice actor/ress was because I enjoy mimicking and creating a voice from scratch or to create a voice for a type of "character", as for me it's a way to creatively express a character's emotions/personality. It's fun and I enjoy the challenge. If any of that made sense. :D

I started voice overs completely oblivious to the industry or job definition or profitability. I occasionally make some videos that need voice overs and I'd watched videos that had them so I just recorded, naturally I would delete and remake as I learnt on the go, and I'd always done asynchronous chronicling, recounting commentating. Then one, not so sunny morning, I got a job request, and that changed everything.

I've loved cartoons to death since I was a kid. I was asked to VO for a local cartoon when I was 9 (that unfortunately was never released) and I recently just graduated from film school. We had a few classes in sound that included dubbing and a few student projects I did VA for, I absolutely loved doing that so I decided I should give it a serious try. I've always been told that I have a very expressive and even "cartoonish" voice from my everyday speaking voice to the weird sounds and impressions I often do.

Iv wanted to do voice over since high school but never knew where to start. I'm told I can do characters well, but I usually do it for fun. Iv thought about posting videos of my different voices on a separate channel as a journey for the passion and to showcase the skills I have and the skills I develop along the way. I'm a very creative person and would love to do voice overs in cartoons / anime / movies.

Why do I want to be a voice actor? -I want to voice characters that people can relate to or enjoy watching and hearing. -I love seeing how realistically I can emote when not in a real situation that does not require me to feel and express those emotions. - I have been asked if I am a voice actor multiple times before and I finally want to say "Yes I am a voice actor"

I'm constantly being told my "voice is nice" and I "should be on the radio" etc etc..also, I like to write screenplays (went well in a few competitions) and I love watching shows and movies. Also, I use to be a lead vocal in a rock band...we weren't half bad. Now, I would enjoy trying out the world of voice acting. I want to see how far I can get. If I don't try I will never know...

I want to become a voice actor because: - For whatever reason the voice of a character in any sort of media interests me a lot. Especially the people who voice said character and what other characters they have done stuff for. It makes me want to be one of those people who brings a character to life by giving them a voice. - I like to mess around and make my own voices at times and I think it's just a lot of fun.

It would be a dre come true to sit my parents down to listen to an audiobook, with me, their daughter who they hear!

Hi there, thanks for this video, my name is Mbuso from Newcastle, KEN (South Africa). What inspired me to do voice acting is 3D animations like Shrek, Lego Movie etc you get my point. It inspired me to create Lego stop motion with Lego minifigures asbo do now. I'm trying to create a business in the future where I have established an audience on my KZfaq channel, i've done KZfaq videos in the past about other stuff but now i'm focused on Collecting Lego minifigures and making short films. 😁👌

I have no want to be on the big screen, but i love to entertain people and i would love to be the voice of a cartoon or something.

But I just sorta took an interest in voice acting and that may be what I will want to do in the future.. Also, thank you for your great advice!

I never listened and decided to become a nurse... and now after years of being a nurse its time for change. I have always loved making voices and reading aloud, maybe its time I listened to what people are telling me :)

Why I want to be a voice actor? My last two years of high school I was really interested in things involving film. I have done theatre since the sixth grade so I knew how to change up my voices. However at first I wanted to be an editor but it’s changed a bit. I also work more comfortably at my home (unless I have to go out) I also did random voices for the fun of it. What got me interested? An app I found I thought it was just for singing (I just used it to troll) and I saw there were voice acting options. I tried them out and enjoyed it a lot. I also got inspired by the voice actor Ashleigh ball. She’s my inspiration.

When I was a little kid, I originally wanted to sing professionally. Life got in the way and priorities changed, and strangely enough I've been told by more than a few people I should consider voice acting. Why? I have a natural inclination to come up with voices for animals to suit the situation and their behavior, and have a tendency to make strange noises, voices, and sound-effects because I find it amusing and entertaining to do it. I have no idea where to begin or how to go about it, and my life is pressing me to consider working for myself due to chronic health issues. Thank you for being an answer, and helping direct me and the many others interested in this profession.

I wanted to be a voice actor manly due to the fact that, I write my own short story books and try to change my voice for every character I make. Also due to the fact that voice acting is an interesting job, but I really got into it because of the amount of anime I watched as a kid. Plus voice acting has some great challenges in it, and it's always good to have challenges. Another reason why I want to become a voice acting so I can voice act in anime series and move people's heart, allow them to get that great feeling when there character says something epic, funny or have that one line that opens their eyes to opportunity like anime did to me.

I started being able to play games like GTA 4 at age 10 I fell in love with videogames and started to develop an interest in voice acting after watching a documentary on what voice actors for cartoons and games have to go through. Eventually I would start practicing in my room and trying to make myself sound like I'm feeling one way or another while making up a script in my head to go along to. My favorite voice actors would have to be Nolan north and Troy Baker since I basically grew up on the uncharted series and the last of us. Ever since I first started playing games I had developed a passion for creating them and voice acting and I have always been torn as to which to do, if it is possible to do both.

I've always been good at reading out loud, I can interpret a script well, and I'm a huge nerd so anime, video games, cartoons, etc., would be a good fit for me. I'm not very good at customer service or sales, but I've worked as a photojournalist in the past and I liked writing the little PR blurbs accompanying my photos. I also worked as a graphic designer for the PICKIEST damn man on Earth, who changed his mind 357 times a day, so rejection and modulation are skills I have. I've always wanted to be an actor but I'm not much to look at so voice acting would be a good choice for me.

I think it started when people told me that I'm could at acting out different characters, especially after have played Dungeons & Dragons together, and when they told me I have a nice voice, some people like to hear me read stuff to them. I also do like reading things aloud sometimes, just to immerse myself in it, and sometimes it's just like... an innate drive or urge or something like that. I suppose I'm fairly good with accents too. I suffer from Asperger's Syndrome and was diagnosed at a very early age. One of the symptoms for me was that I had a relatively monotone way of speaking: I'd often speak with little to no inflection, generally too loud for my surrounding, in long and endless streams of sentences, and generally fail at the pragmatic aspects like turn taking, humour, sarcasm and the like. I also used zero body language and facial expressions, and thus had trouble properly expressing myself, and more than once I was falsely accused of lying because of it. As a teen, I spent inordinate amounts of time simply practising intonation, pace, body language, expressions,, what words to use, when to make pauses, how to tell a joke, etc. It took years, but I eventually managed to attain a level or proficiency where I didn't put people off with my manner or speech. Since it was already ingrained in me by then, I just kept practising other things, like different accents and dialects, or properly pronouncing foreign languages, or attaining fluency in English. By now, I've reached I level where I can (without explicit intention) fool other native English speakers that English is my native language (most assume I'm Australian, when in fact I'm Swedish). I've also spent hours of time just trying to understand different people and their perspectives, and different schools of thought, just to better be able to understand the people around me. That experience has given me a working toolkit, so to speak, for learning how to perform a character. I also find it fun to play out characters and read dialogue, or even just read plain text (whether narrative or descriptive). Because of this, as well as the seemingly large amount of opportunities in fan communities (such as mods, fandubs, and film projects), voice acting has been on my mind as a potential career avenue for a good few years now. I'm currently at a juncture where I've more or less lost the motivation and desire for pursuing my previous career option (translation) and am looking for something else. I'm also on my way out of a 4-5 year long depression that's put a damper on all my aspirations and my active life, and I'm looking for way to... I dunno, become active again, I suppose. Voice acting has increasingly felt like something I want to work with, whether as a career or simply as a hobby, and the relatively low cost of getting started makes it seems a lot less of a mental hurdle than trying to get into, say, research or professional acting.

The first cartoon that got me into voice acting was Dragon Ball. But throughout time, it’s been multiple video games and other cartoons that I still watch today. I’ve always had my own clever voices and been able to mimic other voices very well. I’m always the guy that people are like, “DO THAT THING”. So I feel like I may need to get things started.

I have no clue on who to talk to or where to begin this process. Please let know what are the basic things I need to do first when approaching this type of work from a blank canvas 😬. Stumbled onto this video while looking at various paths for getting into voice acting, and I have to say that despite my introverted, somewhat reclusive nature, I'm still interested. - I may be introverted, but I'm not shy. However, I *am* a perfectionist. I worry about messing things up a lot. I'm learning to get over it, though. - I've been told that I have a soothing voice, yes, but that's not what made me want to be a voice actor, although it has influenced me a little. In fact, I have a hard time changing my voice outside of really obvious impersonations. (I can imitate Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, for example, but I can't make my voice gravelly or deep.) - I can handle rejection. It doesn't feel good to be rejected, but it happens to everyone at some point, and I'm willing to accept rejection, which leads me to the reason I want to get into voice acting: "If we gave up every time we lost, then we'd never be able to move forward." Ruby Rose, from the show RWBY. I'm a creative person, and I find inspiration everywhere. My subconscious is always working to filter through my experiences and find useful tidbits for my stories. And I find a lot of inspiration in video games, TV shows, and books. One of the TV shows I've found to be so inspirational is RWBY. (There are others, too, of course.) To see the progress that has been made on a show which started with small, 5-minute episodes... and to see the progress that the actual characters make within the show... that's huge for me. It shows that if you want something enough, if you work for it, you can achieve it. It's a lesson my parents taught me. And I think that voice acting can be a way to live that lesson for me, because it runs contrary to a few of my own personality traits (perfectionism being one of them), traits which I want to overcome.
