Yes, even the "autosave every [x] minutes" feature that saves the document in the background as you work on it saves the document ONLINE instead of actually saving it to the hard drive, which has its pros and cons. The con ofc is that it's not saved privately anymore, just one more thing to be uploaded "to the Cloud" where others can hack it, but the upside is that _so far_ I have not had any files fail to recover in the case of an unexpected power loss or a corrupted drive.

why would anyone want their private documents on a Microsoft server? Microsoft had such a good thing going with Office and they've fumbled it so hard. But thanks for letting me know, I'll look for the 2007 version.

You have no idea how help this was! I'm 73, my computer just broke and now I have to use this old laptop. I just wrote a letter which I printed but had to write the long address out by hand, what a pain but thanks to you, I can now use my printer. Best of luck and thanks.

Heyy Kevin, very very grateful to you . I unlocked the office 365 app through my student account and it is working just as expected but I earlier had office 2016 ,so when I open office 365 it opens with the name of office 2016 but has an user interface of office 365 .

Wondering if it's a PC vs MAC issue? I did discover today that my Windows 10 PC did NOT have the Office app, so I installed it. I depend very much on all Microsoft products for the type of work that I do, so I greatly appreciate all these tips.

All well. But, Word online version doesn’t allow usage of tab key functionality fully. Tab will work on first press only, later on, tab won’t work for formatting. Why Microsoft does this deliberate coding?

Microsoft have realised they are late to the party and are desperate to catch up with the big players in the field of 'data-mining'. Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. Edge, Bing Searches, Files stored online, etc all contribute to building a profile of you as an individual which is then sold for marketing purposes. If you are happy with this then no drama, if not then set up the account with fake details, customise cookie settings, and do lots of random searches (do a load of searches for special offers, mercedes test drives, , or free stuff...you never know what the algorithm might send you :) ).

I tried using the Microsoft online free version, but it isn't working for me. I downloaded my resume which is 2 separate pages, but for some reason it is making my resume display in a super long version. The "page break" option in insert is greyed out. I spent like 30 minutes just trying to have 2 separate pages... do you know how to help?

whenever i try to go onto my app office or office on google I sign in and it tells me you cant use this email for this Microsoft because this website is for users who have a google account so I don't know what to do about that.
