Fun fact. Version 1.0 and lower on java can be played entirely for free without pay, including servers and multiplayer (although you might have to pay for a vpn or server, but can be bypassed by portfowarding.) It also has creative mode

Fun Fact: As there was no demo in the earlier version of Minecraft, if you try to install the versions where there was no demo, you can actually play the full version of the game. I still don't remember the version, somewhere near Beta 1.3.
