Just a heads up for you guys, Date trees can only produce fruit if it’s female AND it takes them around 6-8 years to do so from seed to harvest.

After roughly 7 or 8 years from when you planted the seed, your date plant should produce fruit for you to eat.🌴

A good tip is to propagate around double the amount of seeds you need (depending on the plant) and then just use the strongest of the batch for the best results.

Correct me if I’m wrong but based on my knowledge, date seeds turn out to be male palms that only produce flowers. Only date producing palms which are females have smaller palms sprouting around them. They can be removed and planted anywhere else. To get proper dates, the pollen from the male palm should transfer to the dates while they’re under development during spring. And date palms need years to grow tall. The process is complex but very interesting.

As a Saudi i can tell u that what u need to grow dates palm is just to plant the seed in open aria and if you want the palm to become a male let the incision in the seed upwards (doesn’t gets u dates) and if you want it a female plant it in the opposite direction (gets u dates if u took the yellow branch from the male palm and tapped it to the female palm) and water it every 2 days

It works. I'm growing five date palms now. Also have mangos, garlic, tomatoes, honey melons, orange bell peppers and paprikas and so much more I actually forgot what else. xD All thanks to this guy.

For all the seeds to seedlings you do, You might want to remind people to label them. So you know what’s growing in them. And/Or mark, do not throw out on them (in case some person in the house decides to help with cleaning.🤣🤣🤣 I know but it does happen from time to time)

Just a trick, put a piece stone the size of a tennis ball after you put the seed in the soil. It will make the date grow a little bit slower at start, but better after. Just don't move the stone because the date will tip it over by itself.

unfortunately, i can see that the first part of the “seedling” is a leaflet removed from a frond, while the second is an opening frond. yes, he basically cut off the SPEAR of a palm tree, very vital parts of a palm. that looks very healthy and definitely isn’t a pulled spear. i have a real seedling
