Police officer gives you simple tips for the next time you get pulled over by the police, to help you avoid getting a ticket. He explains what to do, to help you NOT get a ticket.
Getting pulled over by the police, can be a little scary. If you know some easy to learn and implement safety tips, you can make the encounter smooth and easy for you, your passengers, and the police officer. Some of these tips you may have learned in driver's education, or from your parents, or teachers. Listening to an active duty police officer, explain what to do, and when to do it, can make the difference between getting a ticket, or just getting off with a warning.
Avoid speeding tickets, and other moving violation tickets. From seatbelt tickets, to cell phone ticket, to texting while driving ticket, stop sign ticket, red light ticket, hov lane ticket, and more.
For more tips on self defense, home defense, prepping, and survival, check out Five Elements Tactical.

@@TK0_23_same here. I’ve been pulled over quite a few times, but I’ve only gotten one ticket. I thought this stuff was common knowledge. I turn my blinker on as soon as I see the lights and pull over as soon as possible, then turn my car off and take my keys out and place them on my dash, then I’m respectful to the officer. I don’t know how it’s even possible for people to not know how this will help, but maybe it is. I don’t care if people say I’m sucking up or whatever, I’ve gotten many warnings and only one ticket. If doing these things didn’t help, I’m certain they didn’t hurt. Not going to argue with those who say they don’t think you should do those things or whatever. I can’t imagine not doing simple things like that. To each their own, though.

Do I speed on certain roads, yes - don’t most of us? I’m also polite to people including police officers. Not breaking the law and not being a jerk goes a long way. At 56, I’ve been driving a long time. Im also a person of color. I’ve been pulled over by cops several times in the last 40 years. I’ve been given warnings and I’ve been ticketed for violations I was guilty of. I’ve never been forcefully pulled out of my vehicle, beat up or even verbally abused. Did some cops have unpleasant personalities? Yes. Did I return that energy? No. I always got home to my family safely. My experiences are unique to me so I don’t expect yours to be identical. Before social media was huge . I ve been doin some of this. Its a crap shoot, but at least my stop lasted 10 minutes. Being respectful & courteous . Whatever tone you set, the outcome will follow. One morning after leaving the airport, I sped in excess of 120mph in a 65mph on my way to work. No traffic & was cautious until out of nowhere, the red & blue flashed . I pulled over two On Two off. Windows down , license & registration in my lap& hands in plain sight. NPR playing. After the greeting , I acknowledged my guilt & excuse. As he sat in his vehicle running my credentials, I exited and opened my trunk . In his view , I changed into my work uniform. He asked about my work & we dialogued. He told me that he clocked me at 85 & and gave me a warning. I wanted so bad to ask where was he when he saw me. Sometimes I lose , but for the most part, Law Enforcement only wants to make sure that you're not a threat & is safe. The moral is , when I count the value of sum of speedtickets compare to what I got got away with, it's cheaper than 5 years full coverage premium.. I only been search one time because unbeknownst to me the road was a drug route. Respect & Courteous goes a long way.

@Kw #1 Not saying police are bad people but I have yet to me one officer that did not bend the rules not one . They all speed . Now a call to a life threatening situation well honestly again I’ve never met a officer that followed the law 100%. I think local police serve a purpose but also get in the way and abuse the laws that they sworn a oath to protect. Working for any police force I assume is challenging but honestly they don’t really serve a purpose anymore. I and many others would rather see no police at all let the people govern themselves yes the first year would be rough but people would adjust . I know your going to say oh I hope you remember your statement when you need the cops when your getting robbed or attacked or it’s a emergency. Joke is on you I’ve been robbed and attacked and hit and the driver took off and every single time I called for police never received any help So Well my answer would be I never need the police. All they do is fill out a report and you never hear back . This country here and now does not need police it needs to reset back to the 1800s no more laws made by groups with special interests.

If you commit an arrestable offense, then there’s not much you can do about that. If you’re about to get a moving violation summons - which most police have a great deal of discretion in issuing - often times (not always) the officer’s attitude will be directly influenced by the driver’s.
