This Video will walk you through all the necessary steps required to Synthesize Pure Silicon Dioxide From Ordinary Sand.
Silicon dioxide is used in the construction industry to produce concrete, in the production of glass, as a Sedative, in the production of elemental silicon, and as even an anti-caking agent in powdered foods like spices.
The Reagents needed for this experiment are:
-50g of sand.
-50g of Sodium hydroxide.
-300ml of water.
-3M hydrochloric acid.
-98% Sulphuric acid.
WARNING !!!
Silicon dioxide powder can cause lung irritation and avoid inhaling the dust.

Can we use sodium peroxide instead of sodium hydroxide, Can we use hydrochloric acid instead of sulfuric acid, What if other acid insoluble material is there in the sand, how to remove it, How to check the percentage of silica in acid insoluble material? The answer is no, we can't use sodium peroxide instead of sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid instead of sulfuric acid. If there are other acid-insoluble materials present in sand, it would not affect the result, and to check the percentage of silica in acid-insoluble material, % SiO2 = [(weight of residue after heating - weight of original sample) / weight of original sample] x 100%.

Steel pot was not available, so we used an aluminum container instead while ensuring that the sodium hydroxide did not react with the container.
