How I get the little resin drips off the back of coasters. #resindrips I use a heat gun and soften the drips and then use a razor black to scape off. Then I back my coasters with cork and tie them together to give as gifts.

Lovely coasters..I have been making and selling these for over 3 years..very popular. I suggest green painter's tape on back. It only takes seconds to remove and you are not breathing the very toxic fumes from heating resin. Also I sand the back of the tiles as they are rough and usually have jagged edges...would not want people scratching their surfaces with my coasters(sort of defeats the purpose) and finally I suggest if you are selling at a market do not tie the twine around them as people like to see all the coasters..I just stack and wrap with kraft paper when sold.

Thank You. I have tried taping and it takes longer. The tape does not come off good or easily. This way is cheaper and faster. In the video I mention this and I also have a fan blowing away from me for any fumes. Yeah, I just saw where someone takes a picture and cuts out and attaches to the twine so they can see all of them. I am going to start doing that.

@@PattyPuckettPouringArt I take the tape off about 10-12 hrs after pouring the resin...that way the resin is pretty well cured (or at least hard)and the tape peels off easily..I get about 60 tiles with one roll of green painter's tape so hardly an expense.

Great video! Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me what resin you use and can it handle hot beverages without sticking or marring the surface? Also how long do you dry the tile before applying the resin and how long does the resin take to cure? Thanks a bunch!

Thanks. On these, I used Pro-Marine resin. I let the paint dry about 2 weeks before resin. For the resin, I give it a week. No sticking on coffee cups.
