How to get the $10,000 from the Militech Data Shard

I have seen/heard many individuals use the Data Shard and not get the money so I figured I'd drop this to inform the masses on how to get a bit of extra eddies early.

If you haven't Received the money, you have to find it in your backpack, click on the shard, then hit transfer credits.

@@runitup6158 this is the first time I'm hearing something like that, when you hacked into it you got all the unlocks for it? If it isn't that then this sounds like a new issue maybe an update glitched it, hope you find a solution regardless.

As of latest patch, you can find the datashard in your backpack if you cracked it before the fighting. It doesent seem interactable, but it is. It has a yellow exclamation mark and is called datashard

Same it doesn’t have the trasfer shards option in the back pack I’m going to try after the heist mission

not any more, you can collect it from your inventory after cracking the data shard :)

Thanks don’t know why you can’t get the 10k right away. There’s so many issues with the game idk why I’m complaining about this lol

I am no expert but i think it has to do with quest flags, like the item is flagged as a quest item so it can only be used as such...like if you used the money on the shard to buy the flathead after hacking it you would fight Militech guys instead of the Malestormers and after the quest is over that flag is removed lol...aside from that, Glad I could help!

Cracked the shard right after still never got the money does it take a minute. Shot Royce met Meredith st the end

I've heard you have to scroll to the shard and interact with it then.

Made sure to follow the directions on how to interact properly with Meredith and Royce, mentioning the chip without handing it over so I can shoot Royce and keep the shard. Hacking the Militech Shard in the backpack menu will lock the shard even after I finished "The Pickup" job. Not sure if this is the work of a recent patch like how some people are saying, but repeating the choices to try to get the shard's funds got me nowhere. I'm leaving my shard alone for the time being.

Yeah a patch changed it, gonna be doing a new playthrough December 10th and one of the things ill be doing is checking out the data shard

Lmao thanks I really shouldn’t be surprised on how stupid this bug or procedure is to get the money. I was here for like 20 minutes wondering where in the world is the money 😅 time to go back and do the mission again 😢 Edit: tried it after 30 minutes after the completing the mission and still no cash

They updated it, the shard should be in your inventory, just click on it and transfer funds :)

you have to crack the shard after the mission, without using it...unless they changed something it has been like 2 years since I played it

hack the data shard, go into your inventory, scroll all the way down to the "Hacked Militech Shard" left click it, then leave your inventory. itll transfer funds. I just did it that way.

or if you are on playstation/xbox, it tells you in the bottom right how to download the money off it.
