@@joanneandnoanneschannel3383 As vill said, its through finding the geoglyphs and finding the watery pools in each of them (The quest is called The Dragon's Tears, and you'll need to talk to Impa by the New Serene Stable)

Thats what i did! I was looking for the tears because i really liked the cutscenes and BAM, the dragon spawned on top of me. I watched this video thinking it would go into collecting the memories and was completely surprised but how there was a completely different way.

I think you can get it without the deku tree by just going to the dragon. It’s pretty hard to miss unless it spawns after you defeat the 2 bosses. Tbh without the bombs, the gloom hands are so hard to beat. Phantom Gannon was kind of weird since his attacks are so delayed and it was kinda hard at first to find that perfect window to flurry

No phantom gannons fights have the stages like the final fight and the gloom blade is def the easiest cuz he does a foot sweep or a down strike there readable beffore he even charges up

Same, I saw the dragon and tried to get over to it. Was surprised as hell to see the Master Sword in its head. I also don’t think I’d done all the memories yet, but I had a suspicion who it was from the colour.

I remember that, when the deku tree marked me the location, I didn't think about waiting for a specific hour and jump over the drago head... I made a flying machine and used 1 giant battery to follow the dragon through the skies until I landed on its head.

I figured out it was there sooner than I should have and made a flying machine just to go investigate my hunch. Sure enough I was right and I just went for it.

I didn't do the Deku Tree side quest. I was looking for a way to skip time so I could catch the Light dragon near the Water Temple. While looking for this, I learned that you could track it down and make it fly lower by completing the Deku Tree quest. But ain't nobody got time for that. So I beaconned it from the ground (there's a weird thing causing the dragon to disappear when you're too far and above it), warped to Wind Temple then built an overkill 3 high capacity battery hover bike (it cost me 190 zonaites), used a quarter of one battery to get to the Light dragon and thanked god because at this point I had exactly 2 bars of stamina and was completely unaware than you needed at least that to get the Master Sword.

Pulling the sword from the head of a dragon is extremely badass I just so happened to see the light dragon pass by me and that’s how I got it lol

This is probably the hardest way, the easiest way is to just collect memories if you dont find the dragon by accident like some of the comments claim. I found it by accident collecting memories cause i really like the cutscenes.

If you don’t want to fight, just get all 12 Geoglyphs The 12th one is the last one after you get the other 11

Literally randomly did the korok forest part yesterday and pulled the master sword today before even starting one of the four main quests. I'm doing the Rito one rn. What a cool quest.

Korok Forest is for the quest stuff- but you can get it whenever you can get to the Light Dragon (and have the 2 stamina wheels). I used one of the tall sky islands. Maybe there is some other requirement, but I don't think so.

Just fyi depending on how you navigate the depths there is a chance you will run into a gloom hands as well as a phantom ganon before the one in the actual forest. I would recommend 30-35 bomb arrows just to be safe before heading into the depths

This was one of the easiest speed runs I did, another method is have about 20 bomb flowers and sit on the ledge when you enter the chasm on one of the walls a rain down bombs on them or time bombs if you wish then use campfire and pine cone to make an updraft and use bullet time to rain arrows on phantom ganon

i didnt go to the lost woods i j got the geoglyphs. Once you do the last geoglyph it shows a really neat cutscene and it makes the story better

I just randomly saw the dragon when on the great sky Island purchasing charges. I only collected two tears so far and have not been to the forest yet. I did fight gloom hands and phantom Ganon, but this was just somewhere randomly in some ruins in the main world. Link just lucky I guess...

You could also wait for the dragon to circle to a spot that you're able to glide to, which is what I did. I waited for the dragon to go past the spawn island.

I tried doing this at first. . .I got taken out just trying to get to the Deku tree xD I ended up just traveling to a high vantage point like the Great Sly islands, locating where the dragon is at, then getting as high up as I could. Used some Zonai fans, glider, flame emitter and balloon to do it, but bam! No boss fight :D

I just went directly to the dragon, I was trying to get to a sky island and the Light dragon was flying nearby, went there for a new dragon horn, just a quick detour and surprise, Master Sword (I didn't even reached that sky island thanks to the cutscene)

I am sure you need to get three stones, get a blue ocarina, infuse your sword with three flames, fix a flying midget that can only come out in the shadows' helmet, get three amulets (do this twice), become both the oracle of ages and seasons, get three round stones that will help you save your sister and have more than 13 hearts in order to get the master sword

You can go straight to Zelda after the dragon's tears quest, and defeat the hands and phantom Ganon using the sword

You absolutely do not need to do anything related to the deku tree to get the master sword. You don't need a weapon with "x" attack or to even go to the depths. You can just fly on to the dragon from the nearest sky tower with two stamina wheels.

Note: that side quest is not required just find the dragon land on it and you’ll be good 👍

If you just get all the memories instead the light dragon will appear in front of you when you get the last one (which only appears after getting all the ones in the world) and then you can just teleport to the nearby tower and glide to it

If you go from the depths you can ascend up without needing to fight anyone really. You don’t even need to talk to the deku tree but he makes it nicer. The way I did it I ended up with special dialogue because I got it before getting mineru lol. She was like ah I see you already got it. (I also got her before Riju cuz I just thought that cloud area looked interesting idk if there is an actual quest-line to go there)

I think the dragon tears route is the game tells you to do since it's early game and you can get the master sword instantly.

You don't have to go to the lost woods to get the quest, you can just find the dragon and hop on to it like how i accidentally got the sword while trying to get the horn

This is a way, however i recoment doing it the way where you unlock all memories first, then use a sky tower to glide on the dragon, doing with the memories is not nescesary but it explains where the dragon is from and why it has the master sword, u wont say why and hiw myself though, you'll have to find it out by yourself to keep it the most fun

You don't need to go to the korok forest to know about the dragon. You can also get all the dragon tears to unlock the dragon.

Bro I’ve just been preparing for this fight so I went to hyrule castle (I’m still relatively early 6 hearts 2 stamina) and I went to the area the hylian shield was in botw and low and behold the hand thing and phantom ganon chilling there

I’m just flying to the sky then found the dragon without doing these quest. I also found the sword but did nit pull as I feel that I’m going to miss a lot of cutscenes if I did that. 😅

I got it without going to Korok forest. Just dried some tears, hitched a ride and found out the master sword was the steering wheel.

There's another easy way, collect all memorys; and then go to the final one, after that the dragon will appear, usually He will fly very very high until you did the deku tree side quest, but at the beginning after the final memory he's flying very down for the first moments so go to the nearest tower, and fly to his head, Just make sure you have 2 stamina wheels

I found it when I com-let Ed all the emeries I got a cutscene with the dragon and saw it on the dragon si I quickly used a tower to fly on its head. I had already had enough stamina

I just was using the initial sky island to try and glide into the thunder area, and then saw a dragon and wanted to show my girlfriend the dragons of this game. I already had two stamina wheels because I thought to myself, why do I need hearts when everything will one shot me anyways? so I put all my shrines into stamina. I saw the sword on the dragons head and was confused, so I land on it and grab it, and realized the master sword required stamina in this game? I actually had enough and was so shocked to get it right away🤣 I ended up making it through the thunder area and then found iut later there was a way to remove the dark clouds, but man I was so hyped when I got it.

It took me 4 tries to kill phantom ganon with 10 damage weapons spears give range to hit out side of his gloom and flurry rushes help alot

See, I found the dragon and grabbed its claw, tried and failed to enter the forest, then I teleported to the temple beneath death mountain and traveled a long distance using a flying machine and 2 full batteries, then when I finally got up into the forest, I went straight for the hole and died 3 times before I finally decided to actually prepare, then I used gibdo bones to kill probably twice as many hands as I fought the previous times and then killed gloom ganon, before I finally located the dragon (again) and luckily by some scrape of luck happened to have 2 full stamina wheels... It has now been 3 days since I've played the game

I really like this master sword retrieve quest, it’s way better than Botw’s take. One of the big reason is that ITS ON A FREAKING DRAGOOOONNN!!!!!!!!

I got it after killing my 2 reg phenomena but I didn’t have enough stamina so I went under lookout landing through the gave to a bargain statue swapped for stamina pulled the sword and traded back my hearts so I got the master sword and same amount of heartd

Make sure you do the dragons tears quest instead of this, the memory that plays when you pull the sword has major spoilers, and it’s also an easier way to get the sword

Yeah I got the master sword before doing all this 😅 I completed the dragon tears quest and jumped on the light dragon. I'm dreading this fight, the first cave you come upon I ran into gloom hands/phantom ganon... with THREE hearts.... I'm a bit traumatized when it comes to them now 😭😂

It’s def a bit daunting but once you get a feel for their range/attack pattern things will click. Be confident!
