Hey kozact i have been trying to grow my hair out for i think three months and i feel like when i pick the roots of my hair it slows the process down. Am i doing right by picking the roots or should i just don’t pick my hair at all?

It could be if you are being too rough when you detangle your hair Make sure you’re picking your hair properly from the ends down to the route and taking your time with it. You also want to avoid excessively detangling your hair.. should only detangle your hair when it’s truly tangled. Make sure you’re only washing your hair once or twice a week . And giving yourself scalp massages daily. Apply hair growth oil every so often and massage it into your scalp as well. Lastly, make sure your hair is moisturized and hydrated at all times ( all of this should really help to strengthen your hair and promote strong, healthy hair growth )

Hey! First thank you for all of the hair advice, it truly is wonderful. I know this may be overreaching, but I’m am struggling with making a decision between cutting my hair and starting over. Or if my hair growth is going ok and that I should start considering a protective hair style. Last time I went to the barber I feel like my fade was taken a bit higher than what I expected, however when wet I am able to pull strands of my hair well past my eyes. I know this may be kinda hard to answer considering I can’t post any pictures but do you have any advice on this? I often struggle with communicating with my barber the type of cut/shape-up I should get to ensure that my hair is growing while still looking clean. I also wonder if I’m at the point where I should just start going to a professional cosmetologist.

Hey kozact , does the comb you use to detangle your hair matter for hair growth like should you use a plastic or metal comb

The type of comb you use won’t effect your hair growth, But if you do have kinky curly hair, it’s best to use something that has wide teeth. Instead of smaller, fine tooth combs

Hey kozak what’s better a bonnet or durag for braids or twist and what’s better rosemary oil or wild hair growth and what’s a good leave in conditioner to use before getting hair braided

I would say a durag would be better than a bonnet because they’ll keep your braids secure at the top of your head rather than loosely moving around It’s hard to say, which one’s better between the two I recommend using both of them together And when it comes to getting your hair braided, you actually don’t want to condition your hair , you wanna wash your hair. And put nothing else in it. Your braids will come out better this way because the braider usually uses their own products.

Quick question. I’m at the beginning of my hair journey (around 1 inch) and I’ve noticed that it’s already growing unevenly. Is it a bad idea to trim it now, at the barbers?

When your hair is short it’s ok to get trims every so months to even it out but when it reaches like your eyebrow then I would stop.
