Vegvisir is pronounced with a hard G, like in Golf and I is pronounced like the english E. It literally means way-shower. Now in modern days we can call it a signpost.

Drop Crude bow, it is not a useful weapon. Use Flint knife and sneak to hunt deer. Add shield if in trouble, but just knife works very well. Use other trees to cut down birch. Get Core wood from dismantling resting spots around in the world, or do a quick Black Forest trip. Then make Finewood Bow and upgrade it - it will serve you well for quite some time.

Creating (Direct) roads not only make traversing land smoother and easier with or without wheelbarrow, it makes your world appear more alive. Unconsciously your brain assumes, “oh, that’s a path most traveled… imma follow it to see what’s at the end” *edit* It’s possible to carve roads through the mistlands, it’s just a lot of stone for output… you’d be able to build another town with the amount of stone you’ll receive from that build.

also i like to find a black forest before making a base so i can build the base close to it making gathering copper and tin less painful when that becomes relevant

The flint axe is good for being both a weapon and a tool but isn't the best early game weapon. The club is better than the flint axe. It has both a better damage type (blunt for skellies) and a faster swing speed. That being said, the best early game weapon is actually the flint knife. It has a super fast attack speed with low stamina cost and a leaping attack.

Very good points. What draws me to the axe I think is that it serves really well as both a tool and a weapon. So when it comes to getting through the meadows efficiently (resource wise) the flint axe is a good approach. Dagger is probably my fav too though. The secondary attack is elite! unfortunately it requires a workbench upgrade to craft it

nah its the spear. Super fast attack, can be launched for early deer hunting, trolls are weak to it and it works good even with skeletons cus you attack very fast.

@@SpazzyjonesGaming why anti spear? It's super fast, usefull, easy to craft and deals special damage to many things. Can be used with shield, doesn't weight too much I mean, I don't see counter arguments except for "I just like (insert weapon) better" which is totally fine. Edit: You can also throw it on the ground to lure many boars to charge you so you dont have to run after them while they spread. Early game its fantastic

@@m4djoker890 two major reasons for me. 1. I find it doesn't deal well with height differenecs. Its challenging to hit things above and below you. Especially body piles! Argh! 2. I don't like having to retrieve it after throwing it so I've never been a fan of the range attack. I prefer a bow. Its especially tricky when playing with friends and they accidently step on and pickup your spear :X

Yes the first step for the beginner guide is to get the mushrooms behind Moder and then the raspberries behind Yagluth as they always spawn there. (A lot of people don't know that apparently) Perhaps I didn't convey that well and I apologize for that if so!
